Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Just something for Ruby. I thought it could be a useful tool, weapon, or gift." Stephanie says, her tone lighter than before.

After a short while, a large, anvil-hammer appears above the circle. The iron bars seem to have disappeared, yet the pipe and anvil remain where they were. The hammer seems to have a handle made of the lead pipe, and a head made of two smaller anvils.

The anvil hammer clanks down in the middle of the circle, and I go pick it up, "Neat. This could crush someone with enough force." I comment, observing the hammer.

 

"It looks a little heavy. Would she be able to carry it?"

Ragnyon holds her crystal ball between them.

Blood crawls up the staff, the dye forming the vision.

...
Idala is riding Aura in the middle of a field. It's peaceful, and Hythania is off in the distance, doing something indistinguishable at this distance.

The vision ends.
"Well, at least the vision wasn't grim. Looks like you have happy days ahead of you."
She gives Idala a patient smile.

"Well, there's been a lot of that recently. Do you know these other people?"

Arnold finds himself near a group of draconians with some pencils. They seem to be making corrections and writing notes about the encyclopedias they're paging through.

One looks up at you.
"I'm sorry, are we in your way? Can I help you?"

 

"I've made it light for the user, and heavy for anyone else." Stephanie says, smiling under her hood.

I smile at Stephanie, before handing Ihra the hammer.

"Try it out." I say. Artemis forms a wooden figure next to Ihra.

 

Expecting it to be as heavy as her axe, she swings a bit too hard.
Nope.
She swings way too hard.

The wooden figure is pulverized to splinters before Ihra tries to dislodge the hammer from the ground.
"Whoops... I'd say it works, though."

 

"That looked nice. I honestly thought I was going to have a bad vision... the last one I saw wasn't nice at all..."

A gust of wind spirals from Aura to Sgavrinn. It swirls around him.

"Not really, though I know a bit about the other two."

"No, you're not in the way. It seems of got lost and I can't find anything I can read. I was specifically looking for novels earlier but I like journals too."

 

"Now imagine that on someone trying to harm you. BAM! A bloody mess of broken bones would be all that's left." I say happily.

"I hope she likes it." Stephanie says, before returning to her drawing.

"That's one badass weapon, I must admit," Abigail says, "It should be called...hmm, Fear the Anvil."

"That sounds pretty good, especially with what it can do." Artemis says happily.

"I agree." I say.

 

"Oh? What happened?"

Sgavrinn likes the bit of wind in his face, humming a bit as a response.

"Oh? Do they know you?"

"Ah. What is your language called? Or, perhaps you'd like to look around here and learn a new one? Novels are on the other half of the library..."

"That image is... not my cup of tea." Ihra shivers.
"At least it makes sense; she is a blacksmith, essentially."

 

"That's why I wanted an anvil. It's a sort of joke because you're meant to use a hammer on an anvil, and the hammer is made from anvils." Stephanie says while she draws. She seems to have cheered up considerably.

"I hope she isn't hurt." Artemis says, concerned, looking at the pool of lava.

 

I see him, and tell him to speak.

 

"Well, we'll know not to let her enthusiasm get the better of her next time. That was a scary amount of energy she used to make those... She used the equivalent of ten charges from my staff. "

"Sir, the other two tribes you mentioned emptied the Nok-naan village themselves and set fire to it as a trap. They tried to lure us yesterday, but we didn't fall for it. I'm sorry I didn't warn you earlier, a storm kept me back... As for the tribes themselves, they intend to unify the desert under their rule."

 

"Wow...she did all that for me?" Abigail says, extending her new claws and looking at them.

"She seems incredibly kind overdoing herself like that." I say.

"I believe she has tried her best to make up for what she has done. I can see she isn't as bad as I first thought." Myria says calmly.

Artemis smiles at her mother.

 

They still look like obsidian, but the color is deeper and it's a bit reflective.

"Seven for you, three for Aj. Still, I think she really didn't mean to start off on that sour of a note."

 

Abigail looks at her claws, quite astonished and curious.

"Whoa, a shuriken takes a charge to make? No wonder they're so powerful." I say, throwing and catching one of my new shurikens.

"Which is why I'm giving her a second chance. I hope this is the start of her bettering her act." Myria says, before walking over to Artemis.

"Come on, sweetie. We still have training to do." Myria says, smiling at her daughter.

Artemis sighs, "Ok, mother." She says, smiling back.

"Have fun, Artemis." I say, smiling at Artemis.

A flower encloses around the pair, dragging them underground once more.

 

"I'm still trying to figure out what kind of magic she uses. For now, I thinkvshe just needs rest."

 

"It's a shame Artemis hasn't finished her training yet. I can think of something that would be very restful." Katie says, beaming.

"I think she actually needs sleep, not a relax," I say, before turning to Ihra, "By any chance do you know why she can't touch the ground? It seems rather odd to me."

 

"She's a primal vulcan. Like how lava eats away at the ground, the ground eats away at her. Water and ice vaporize before they'd get to her; ground is her only problem."

 

Katie seems saddened.

"Interesting. There's no way of stopping the corrosion?" I ask.

 

"Not really. Obsidian would work; many vulcans would rather take a water bath than corrode. That's what The Hive uses at the forge."

 

"Well, thank you for telling us now." I say to the ambassador. "You have been good trading partners in the past. As for the enemy, I'm not sure what to do. Keep your tribe safe, I'm sure they'll attack you as well."

 

"They have in the past, and they will again. Why I was sent to come despite being late was a suggestion; what if our tribes united, left the desert, then came back with the technology of the rest of our continent? We think that'd be best, but would like your opinion."
