"For now." Ruby mutters.
"Would you mind sparring with me, Aj? I'm... overflowing, if you will."

 

"Sure." I say, readying the stick.

 

"Are you sure your friends won't mistake it for hostility? I just need to get rid of the excess energy... You seem powerful enough to survive it. If I target nothing, I'll tear a hole in space."

 

"Uhm..." I say worried.

Everywhere goes dark for a moment. When light returns, I stand ten times my size.

"Alright fire." I say.

 

She opens her glowing eyes, almost posessed.
"I'm sorry... This is the price I pay for survival!"

Your mind collapses on itself, psychic energy tears away at your body and soul, and beams of energy burn you to the ground.


Afterwards, Ruby and Ihra are trying to heal you, and Ruby looks a lot less in pain.
"I'm sorry... But thank you."

 

"I didn't mean like a paradox but as in it looked like it had been torn in half, which causes a soul to shatter, but then it seems to be in perfect condition... weird..."

Eras mutters something under his breath.

 

"Does that not qualify as a paradox?"

 

"F*cking hell...don't...don't let Myria...see this..." I say, coughing up blood, "Do I...still h-*cough*-have all my...limbs?"

 

"Maybe, but more likely this being can somehow hold their soul together even like this."

 

"Yes, you do."
"I'm so sorry... I shouldn't have asked... Please... I don't mean to kill you..."

"N-No...it's-" I cough up some more blood, "It's fine..."

Stephanie seems to be trying to heal me too. Abigail and Katie simply kneel beside me, concerned.

"J-Just...don't let...Myria see this..." I say, "She'd...probably mur-murder you for hurting...me..."

 

Ruby turns around, fearing for her life.

Ihra finishes healing your wounds. That hurt more than light magic...

 

Luckily, Myria isn't there.

"Thanks, Ihra." I say, trying to get up.

 

"I'm... I'm so... I didn't mean to hurt you that much... I just need to avoid overloading my body with energy, else I'll melt. Same thing that'll happen to Ihra if she absorbs too many charges too fast."

 

"Well I'd advise you try to expel your energy in another way other than hurting your friends." Myria says from behind Ruby.

My eyes widen in fear.

 

"I... I..."
Ruby sheds a tear.
"I know... Make it quick, please..."

 

Artemis runs over to me.

"Aj, are you alright? I watched you get blasted while you were big...and then you fell..." Artemis says, extremely worried.

"I'm fine, at least now. Ihra healed me." I say, trying to smile.

Myria draws her scythe back, readying a powerful swing.

 

"At least I won't go in pain... So much for freedom. I guess my race isn't meant to be preserved..."
