Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I instinctively put my hand on my forehead like a visor, and tip my head down.
"I'd probably be fine with it if none of it got in my eye sockets."
I say, head still down.

 

Katie laughs, as does Stephanie.

The water is drawn away from you, and forms into a ball of ice beside Katie, "What happens if it gets in your eye sockets?" Katie asks.

 

"Dirt, or a flower? Probably just irritates me by feeling something there all the time. Water? I can't see. For an awfully long time."

"Which,"
I continue,
"Is also one reason why I want my rag back."
I say, holding my hand out to Katie.

 

"Oh, of course!" Katie says, reaching into her hair.

Katie undoes the rag tied around her hair, and hands it to you.

"Sorry, I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it." Katie says apologetically.

"Sloppy work, maid." Stephanie says, before looking at you with a smile.

 

"It's okay. I think you managed to clean it off with all the water you were diving into, so that's a plus."
I say, taking the rag.

I smile back at Stephanie.

 

"Why thank you, oh merciful sergeant." Katie says, bowing down.

"Oh, I should've asked your name when I recruited you. What is it?" Stephanie asks.

 

"Cyrus."
I decide.
"Cyrus Flectere."

"Ah, Sergeant Cyrus Flectere, you might like my master theif: Tenebris Mors." Stephanie says, smiling.

I step out from behind Stephanie. I seem much smaller and younger.

"Um...h-hello." I say nervously.

"Tenebris, meet our new maid and sergeant." Stephanie says, gesturing to you and Katie.

"Oh, n-nice to meet you sir." I say, offering a handshake.

 

"Nice to meet you too, lad."
I smile, and accept the handshake.

 

I put my other hand behind my back. You notice your rag is missing.

"Maid, greet Tenebris." Stephanie says.

"Oh, um, hello Tenebris Mors." Katie says nervously.

"You look pretty." I say, smiling at Katie.

"Good, maid." Stephanie says.

"Why do we have these new people, Violet?" I ask.

"They seemed useful. The maid is a police officer Cyrus captured." Stephanie says, smiling at you.

"Whoa, really?" I say, surprised, looking at you in fascination.

 

"I now get why he's your master thief."
I say to Violet.
"C'mon, give it back."
I gesture out my hand towards Tenebris.

 

I give you your rag back.

"Tenebris, don't steal our crews things." Violet says with a serious tone.

"Ok..." I say sadly.

"Uh-Uhm, what do you want me to do?" The maid asks nervously.

"Oh, Cyrus, you have one last command for the maid don't you?" Violet says.

 

"Yeah, I do..."
I look at Tenebris, walk over, and whisper something.

I whisper to Tenebris,
"Don't get me wrong, I like to occasionally be responsible, but if you're always responsible, what fun is it? So, do you want to have some fun?"

 

"Can we play with the pretty maid?" I ask in a whisper.

"You know, if you two are plotting to overthrow me..." Violet says, summoning a yellow crystal in her hand. The crystal turns into what appears to be a gun.

"I'll kill you both in an instant." Violet says with a serious tone.

The maid shivers slightly.

 

"Cool with us, because we're not doing that. Thanks for the warning."
I say to Violet, before re-crouching down and whispering to Tenebris.
"It's your call. Just don't do anything too weird, or ask of the impossible. Got it?"

 

"But...I don't know what to ask her to do..." I say.

 

"Didn't you say that you wanted to play?"

 

"Yes but...I'm not sure now...I-I thought you had a few ideas..." I say, stressed.

"Are you harassing my thief, Cyrus?" Violet asks, concerned.

 

"Hey, it's fine. You don't need to feel anything bad about it."
I whisper, standing up.

"No, I'm just tossing around a few ideas. We're colleagues now, after all."
I say to Violet, and start to think.

 

"Um, Violet? Cyrus said I could command the maid for him. Can I?" I ask.

"Very well." Violet says.

I turn to the maid, "O-Ok. I'm going to command you..." I say nervously.

The maid smiles at me.

"Head to the ground! Bow to me!" I shout in a suddenly serious tone.

Violet seems somewhat shocked. The maid complies.

"Now," I say, drawing a smaller-sized Shadow Katana, "Look at me."

The maid looks at me, fear in her eyes.

"Say, 'I am but a worthless maid, Violet is my eternal master.'" I command.

"I-I am but a w-worthless maid, V-Violet is my eternal m-master." The maid says, terrified.

I press the tip of Shadow Katana against the maids neck; she shakes out of fear.

"Louder, and with no stuttering." I say, my tone serious.

"I am but a worthless maid, Violet is my eternal master!" The maid shouts, tears running down her face.

"And don't you ever forget that." I say.

"T-Tenebris? You might have gone a little too far." Violet says, concerned.

"O-Oh, sorry Violet." I say, my voice normal again.

The maid lies crying on the ground.
