Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"That would be fine. She's not the strongest, so she'll need assistance." Artemis responds.

Artemis strengthens her healing to help with Ragnyon's back returning to normal.

 

She's able to stand up, still shaky, with the assistance of her staff.
"Heh... I can't believe you find me useful. They never did."

"That Hive place seems scary. Why would they find a prophet useless? It's like shooting the messenger for doing their job!"
Sgavrinn lowers a wing for Ragnyon.

"Is it okay with your master?" She asks, looking at Artemis.

 

"It's fine. Sgavrinn suggested it, and I agreed. You're not exactly the strongest on your feet right now, so you need assistance." Artemis says, smiling.

 

"Thank you both, truly... Please, if I can ever do something more to make it up to you, let me know. I owe you my life."

"It seems like everyone from this Hive is sad or attacking us. Why are they like that?"

 

"Ha, I will if I think of anything." Artemis says happily, laughing slightly.

"I don't think you really owe us anything. It's just a simple act of kindness to help those around you, and those who are badly hurt." Katie says, smiling.


"I think the people in the hive are just innocents that have been brainwashed to remove their free will. Whenever we save one, they're away from home; they don't know where they are, or, in some cases, who they are." Artemis responds.

 

"I know I'm a burden to you all. You spent significant amounts of energy to heal me again; for what? I don't know... I hate being a drag, but I don't know how to do anything else than look into people's futures."
She looks bitter.
"It's not that I'm not thankful; I am, but I... it's just beyond me."
She hugs Sgavrinn after situating herself on his back.
"This war has gone on too long... I just hope that some of our race can be saved."

"That's... So... Everyone we killed, they might not really be evil?"

 

"War is worse than hell. In religion, sinners go to hell, but in war, mothers, children, innocent bystanders, they're forced into it." Katie says.

"Unfortunately, yes. I just try to tell myself I'm hurting them in self defence; it's either me or them." Artemis responds sadly.

 

"I couldn't agree more. I can't thank you enough for freeing me from my chains... I don't know what I was being used for, if I was at all. The mind controlled seem to remember nothing; for all I know, I could have been used for something, somehow."

"Aww... Maybe we can do the stabby thing Thirteen did? If they break from the control in their last moments, could we maybe heal more of them before their final moment?"

 

"Maybe they were being used to power something? Or feed someone?" Katie says.

"Well, my father could rip souls from bodies, and said that I could do that too. I don't think I can find anyone willing to practise that on, though. Besides, I'm not sure if that would even work. Maybe almost killing them and bringing them back in their last moments is the only way..." Artemis responds.

 

Ragnyon shrugs.
"Your guess is as good as mine."

"Well, at least we know one way, if you want to save them."

 

The aura doesn't respond.

"I'll go to her at once."
Arnold starts moving towards the exit of the library...

Cannon balls and ballista start flying towards the Infernal Beast, which is starting to smash some defences and weapons set up at the port.
The figure starts making their way towards the ships, at the same time cutting down enemies as they pass. Archers start aiming for them.
A few soldiers start noticing Kai and start preparing some sort of weapon which looks like a claw on one of the nearby ships.

... and on his way, he says, "Ah, Helianthus."
He picks up the totem and continues walking.

The aura starts moving tendrils of light (going to call them that now) towards Thirteen.

 

"Ah, yes. Thank you, Arnold."

 

"By the gale's will, let her go!"
Lightning strikes the ship as Claire lets out a screech.

You see Xlentia dragging herself back to her hoard.

"Did it do this to you?"
I ask, before attempting to grab the tendrils.

 

The ship is pretty much blasted apart.
As the archers try to fire arrows at the figure... all you can see is that the archers are screaming in pain and falling to the ground. Most of the soldiers seem to be focused on them or the Infernal Beast.
Some still try to make a desperate attempt attack Kai.

Arnold makes his way towards Xlentia.

"I'm guessing you've been reading some books in the library? So far I've found many interesting accounts of Xlentia. There was even a novel about how she gained power and then how an event called the 'Shatter' happened. It mentions a large white dragon."

Your hands go straight through the tendrils.
The tendrils swirl around you for a while, and you feel as if you are being examined. The tendrils then fade back into the aura of magic.

 

"Claire, shock it too!"
Lightning strikes the Infernal beasts, and hurricane force winds try to throw it airborne.

She doesn't notice you, still crawling.
She's bleeding, grunting as she crawls.

 

The problem is, something that large doesn't come off the ground easily.
As the lightning hits it, it tries to the melt the ground underneath it to escape, with little success.
The figure continues to fight off the soldiers.

OOC: Btw, I meant that some soldiers will still trying to attack Kai. The Infernal Beast is fighting the soldiers. But oh well.

"Mistress Xlentia! You're bleeding! What happened?!"

 

"More!"
Lightning repeatedly strikes the beast.

Amidst the chaos, Kai is able to escape; a few soldiers isn't stopping a Leviathan.

"It's nothing... Give it time, I'll be fine. There was just an intruder, I wanted your assistance. Of course, they're long gone now; gone forever..."

 

I say, "Right, let's go. We might have to help Kai back to Aurilon after what they did to her."

"Don't we still have the Infernal Beast to worry about?"

Kai leaves a red stain through the water, leading straight to Aurilon.
