Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What?" The devil asks, confused.

"They mean if he ran into something it'd hurt both of us." One of the slime demons clarifies.

"I wasn't talking about that I was talking about this golden queen." The devil responds.

 

"Were you not present for the meeting beforehand? The Golden Queen is one of our reality's royals. She was peaceful, and didn't always go by that name. The Twilight Menace changed that, and in her shame for believing a peaceful reality could be cultivated she shed both her name and her demeanor. The Silver King clings to her old hope, but he too has shed most of his old ways." Cream says.
"The Silver King in particular hoped to reason with The Twilight Menace, offering him to bring our king to Tenebrae and Lux. He responded by cutting deep into our king's neck."
"Do not mistake our royals for weaklings, though. Remember, be wary of how much you speak of the menace - many still are ready to mobilize for war."

 

"Why don't we just make a new twilight kid and have him on defence for this war then?" One of the incubi asks.

"That wouldn't work, he was born from Tenebrae and Lux. They'd need to have another child, and even then they might not be as powerful." A succubi responds.

"They probably don't want to have another kid anyway." An imp adds.

 

"The whole reason you lot are here is so there is no war!" Cream says, a bit frustrated.
"There's quite enough war going on already. If some of you are so eager for a fight, why didn't you volunteer to help out that dragon girl Ihra?" Slate asks in response.

 

"That's not what Mortius said we were doing though." Another imp says.

 

“I don’t suppose you’ll tell me what he said, or will you?” Cream asks, suspicious.

 

"Helping your reality rebuild stuff." The imp says.

 

"That is a large part of it, yes."
"The Golden Queen wanted either an eye for an eye, or aid in construction and reconstruction. This group didn't need to come, but Silver saw the work of guardians on Earth and asked for some of Lady Gaia and Lord Mortius' children to come as well. Thus, your presence and efforts help stave off an even bigger war starting."

 

"So where are those dark and light creatures?" The imp asks.

 

"Their contract is much stricter than yours. The Golden Queen is scheduled to attend one of your gods' council meetings. It is still to be arranged; I only hope she doesn't take this opportunity with Silver bringing us home to..." Cream trails off.
"She'd be sorely outnumbered. Drop that thought before you're reported for doubting The Golden Queen." Slate snaps.
"...Right. She's not that far gone." She sighs, still seeming a bit disturbed by the thought.

 

"I guess you'd have to be pretty insane to wage war on a reality like ours." A lesser demon comments, sparking a small discussion among the other demons.

 

Slate sighs.
"There are far stronger realities than either of ours. Both of us are lucky neither encountered one bent on conquest as a result of our first rifts."

 

The lesser demon shrugs.

"There isn't a hive master in the reality we're going to...is there?" A water guardian asks.

 

"No, but his forces occasionally give us a bit of trouble."
"The Twilight Menace also did us the favor of opening a rift to a reality where the Hive Master had already won." Slate says, monotone obscuring sarcasm.
"With an entire reality responding to his every thought, that version of him bolsters the forces of the Hive Master you know and hate. Usually the brunt of his attacks are sent our way... at least, I think."

 

"I hate that guy..." A fire guardian comments, sounding annoyed.

 

"The Twilight Menace, or the Hive Master?" Cream asks, sounding equally annoyed.
"Does it really matter?"

 

"The hive master. He's so annoying!" The fire guardian says, frustrated.

 

“You are far from the only one who shares that sentiment.” Cream sighs.

 

"We're not at risk of getting mind controlled...a-are we?" An air guardian asks.

 

“No. We aren’t that weak.” The duo say simultaneously.
“Anything he does is put in plain sight. The entire guard knows everything he does in our reality.” Cream adds.
“We have a god of time. They know everything he’s ever tried and will try.” Slate concludes.
