Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The real Idala comes back and immediately faints.
"Oh no...", says Arnold as the draconians leave.

As the portal closes, Arnold makes a dash-glide for it.

 

"In their defense, sloped and rocky terrain isn't the best for horses."

He swaps books again.

It discusses an emperor who held the throne at age 13 because his parents were assassinated. He turned out to be great with the economy, and was able to fund his generals sufficiently to unify his continent after managing to pay off many outstanding debts.

Arnold makes it in, barely.

Ihra, though still bleeding, looks towards Idala.
"Hurry up, I want to help her!"

In a port, you see pretty much every ship in The Darklands blockig off the harbor. The water's stained red.

 

"This is...interesting..." I continue reading, attempting to see how the child-King died.
OOC: Are you basing these memoirs off of historical people? Cause the first one made me think of Napoleon, and this one is making me think of that one kid who became King of Hungary, although everyone hated him and he was eventually killed in a battle against Suleiman The Lawgiver.

 

OOC: Not intentionally. I'm mostly just improvising. Hope I'm doing okay.

Riot apparently broke out when he was older; it seems more of a journal at this point. Apparently many people were surprised that he refused to allow his own son to succeed him, deeming one rising offical more worthy than him. In the ensuing battle, his son went straight for him; he killed his own son, but ultimately did not live through the battle.

 

"Ah, the classic arrogant downfall. How pitiful." I motion to another memoir. "That one next."

 

Arnold notices that Xlentia is awake (I think she still is?).
He immediately bows.
"Ah, Mistress Xlentia. I'm glad that you are finally awake."

A dazed Hythania manages to stand up with help from Hryth.
"She'll... be fine... it seems the reflection survived though."
Aura walks over to Idala and curls up around her.

"That doesn't look good at all..."
I fly down towards the harbour.

 

This one is incomplete and full of editor's marks. It seems to discuss schooling, a few jobs, and a news channel, but that's all you can make out through the mess.

"Hmm? Another new servant? Oh, I'm sorry... Heh, this is ridiculous. What is your name, Mortal?"

Claire descends towards the port.

They seem to be celebrating in front of a tied-up Kai who is breathing faintly.

 

"I am called by many as 'Arnold', and I prefer that name to any others."

"And what is your title?"

"Yes, and then she gains a new reflection, which would be different to this current one in most cases. The problem is, it doesn't seem to want to leave. Aj put it in a crystal and then destroyed it. Then it seems to have come back."

"Unless the people of Runetrel, who are normally far more peaceful than the rest of the Darklands and are also very diplomatic, have suddenly developed malicious intent towards outsiders, then they must believe Kai to be an ordinary monster like the ones they hunt in the Wild Islands."

"I'll hope for the best. In their defense, she did sink a few boats. And probably ate the crew."

 

"Alright; I doubt he would trust you with anything too powerful anyway." Stephanie replies.

I laugh.

"Are you really that immature, Aj?" Abigail says, flying next to me.

"What, you think I'm not going to toy with an inferior being?" I ask, laughing more.

"Oh?" I say, curious.

"Is this true?" I ask, my palm tightening into a fist again; half crushing the draconian.

"I think you might have overdone it on the totems, Stephanie." Artemis says, concerned; pulling up her mask.

"Sorry..." Stephanie says, "I hope she isn't insane..."

 

"I don't remember anything, I swear! Please... Please... I gave you my family, why can't you spare me like you promised?!"

 

I sigh, "I'll let my colleague decide your fate, if you're going to be such a big baby about it." I say, handing the draconian to the large Ice Katie; who holds him in a similar grip.

"What do I do with him?" The Ice Katie says.

"Decide his fate. Apparently we offered to spare him, after killing his family." I say.

Ice Katie gives the draconian a sympathetic look.

 

He's too busy crying and panicking (and being crushed) to comment.

 

Ice Katie loosens her grip, opening her hand into a palm.

"It's alright, we're not going to hurt you." Ice Katie says, gently patting the draconian with a large, icy finger.

I let out an annoyed sigh, making sure Ice Katie can hear it.

"Just because you have an insatiable blood lust doesn't mean we should kill everyone who isn't our friend!" Ice Katie says, glaring at me.

"Hey, I might be able to help." Artemis says, looking up at Ice Katie.

Ice Katie carefully picks Artemis up, putting her next to the draconian.

"It's alright, I'm not going to hurt you." Artemis says calmly, a calming aura surrounding the draconian.
