Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Katie knows a lot already, though she probably doesn't know of the problems on your side," I say, "Due to the circumstances though, I've been assigned to protect her specifically as she's with Aquira this time."

 

"Best keep it that way, I think. I don't think she'd take the burden well." Ihra sighs.

 

"Especially since she seems to finally be living her dreams of being with Aquira on one of her trips." I say, sounding sympathetic.

 

“One of many reasons.” Ihra mutters.

 

"Well, you're free to use the facilities of the Shadow Palace if you need them. I'll leave you in Artemis and Shadow Stephanie's hands." I say.

 

"I'll just be waiting in the gardens." Ihra says.

 

About fifteen minutes later, Ihra senses a powerful presence approach; a brilliant light contrasting a pitch darkness around her.

 

Ihra fades back into the physical plane, having been idling only halfway in it.
She yawns and stretches, doing so revealing another cut she didn't seem to notice - until she stretched, which she promptly heals with a look of irritation before turning to the presence.

 

What initially felt like a giant presence is more so a pair of nine-foot tall ones, Tenebrae and Lux standing nearby.

"Hello, Ihra." Tenebrae says with a smile.

 

"I can't say I recall you two being so small in the past. You both look well, though." She says, feeling over her snout a bit before more completely healing the knife wound Artemis fixed earlier. "Far less irate, at least."

 

"We have the ability to change into a more mortal-sized form to we can more easily...socialize with our followers." Lux explains.

"I assume your presence here means you'll be translating for us at this meeting with your 'Golden Queen'?" Tenebrae queries.

 

“If that reality is stuck with her, then I’m not going to let Praecantatia or Gaia forget what happened between them and Xlentia.” Ihra mutters. “I’m about as keen of her presence as you probably are. However, yes, I did agree to translate for you. I take it Amber already bailed?”

 

"I...haven't heard anything about Amber." Tenebrae says, sounding confused.

"We owe you a lot for this, Ihra." Lux says appreciatively.

 

“She translated for Aj. I guess she’s already back to Earth, though.” Ihra says, seeming wary of the duo’s demeanor, albeit Lux in particular. “Regardless, if you’re ready for the meeting then we should head over. Or talk with Silver if you don’t have those gear things, he might be able to get her to come out of Xlentia’s chambers.”

 

""Gear things"?" Tenebrae asks, puzzled.

 

“Don’t you need Temporus’ necklace thing that lets you leave without messing everything up here?”

 

"Oh, this?" Tenebrae asks, pulling out the cog-shaped necklace from under her shirt.

"Temporus said he'll be keeping watch on us with them, in case our meeting doesn't go as planned." Lux explains, also showing his necklace.

 

“Yes, those. I don’t know how you expect the meeting to go, but hopefully it doesn’t... well, end the way things have tended to end as of late.” Ihra sighs. “Anyhow, I’m ready to go speak with her if you are.”

 

"Lead the way." Lux offers.

 

Ihra starts towards the rift, though as she turns her back on Tenebrae and Lux they notice just how beat up Ihra looks.
Her seraphic wings betray deep cuts, hastily cauterized wounds, various weapons caught in her robe and dangling from her back, and even an arrow still sticking in her tail. None of it seems to faze her, though her clothes are caked in blood and bits of viscera.
