Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Dragon. For now. Less prone to any sneak attacks."
I decide.
"I never caught his name. He was too busy holding his blade to my neck for us to have a decent conversation. And I'm not going to ask him his name, unless it's with with a note attached to a 50 foot pole."

 

"Alright. Well, why do you not want to ask his name anyways?"

 

"It's actually fine with me if you ask his name. Although, if you are, I'm going with you, but I'll be hiding behind you the entire time."
I try to stand, but my leg collapses a bit again.
I just start hovering.
"Hovering behind you. I don't exactly have my sword, two dying draconians decided they would make it weigh about 100 times it's original weight."

"We thought we had a leg up. We almost did it..."

Xlentia seems to be recovering. Her eyes are open.
"What... what did you... do without... without my permission?"
Entropy's face goes a bit pale.

They're still working on un-harpooning themselves.

The draconian in question still looks stunned.

 

"Alright then."

I walk over to the draconian. "So, what's your name?" I ask. I shout out, hoping that Vir will hear, "By the way, your sister is awake!"

"No offense or anything, Entropy, but...'Assuming makes an ass out of u and me'" I say, quoting Aj.

 

I follow you, hovering behind.

 

"Good to know!" He shouts back.


"I... uh..." He's still rather... well, he's still dazed from something.

"Ugh, I'm getting wiped, aren't I?"

"I think you're useful enough to get a second chance. Don't waste it."

 

I pick up the nearest stone on the ground and throw it at him.

 

It bounces off his snout, and he still doesn't snap out of it.

 

"I can handle this."

I take a deep breath, and then roar at him.

"Glad to see you are awake, Madame." The totem says.
OOC: I hope you still realize that I'm still a totem in the void

 

He snaps out of his trance suddenly, looking at you in terror.
"Please... not again!"

"Hmm? Who are you?"
"He's a newcomer who tried to help coordinate an attack on Ihra and the lost prisoner. Then I butchered it."

 

"I'm not The Mistress. I'm the totem in the void that told you all about Ihra and Ragnyon's whereabouts." I say calmly, as if trying to reassure him.

"My liege, you may or may not remember me as the one you called, 'Mortal', for truly I am no more than that."

 

"What? I gave you what she wanted, though! Please, don't take me too!"
He scrambles backwards.

"I only call pretty much every mortal I see 'Mortal.' Though, I appreciate your humbleness and your assistance. I'll let you serve me. But... I don't think I'm going to be getting up anytime soon... Those foolish Mortals did a number on me."

 

"No, no! I'm not here to hurt you. I don't want to hurt you. Maybe we could just talk this out."

"If I may, my liege, the name that I had given to you, though it is useless, is Helianthus. It truly is an honor serving The Great Xlentia."

 

"Please... Anything but my... my... wh... where are you holding me?!"
His pupils are growing wider than you thought possible.

"Helianthus... I will try to remember, though you are but one of many. I am glad our respect is reciprocated between us, though, if you don't mind, I think we need to lick our wounds, so to speak. Forgive my weakness during these times; it's been hard on all of us."

 

"Holding you? I'm not holding you anywhere. Please, do you want some tea?"

"Ah, my liege, It is not your weakness, but ours that has fallen hard upon you. For truly, we are mere mortals, and cannot even bare to be compared against your true and powerful might, for even at this moment you are filled with such."

 

"But I... they... she..."
He calms down slightly.
"Where am I? Why are my scales black? What... what happened?!"

"You are quite honorable, Helianthus. I thank you for your comforting words, but I fear that your duty to protect and serve me can be overshadowed by my own recklessness."
She chuckles a bit.
"How humiliating. Incapacitated outside of my hoard. Is this what war does to mortals?"

 

I remain silent. After a few moments, I respond. "You are in this dimension, which I call The Overworld. I am not sure why your scales are black. As for what happened, I coordinated an attack, but then Entropy thought you guys had a leg up and launched a pre-emptive strike. As you and your fellow draconians were retreating through the portal, I believe you were left out. Now you're here, and your mind has most likely been broken from the grasp of The Hive."

"My liege, this is what war does to mortals, however, I cannot even bare the thought of the most powerful you being compared to lowly and weak mortals such as I. However, I am of most humility and regret for having dared speak of what happens to mortals be applied unto The Most Powerful and Great Xlentia."

"Please, I love the flattery, but now is not the time. I think I'm going to go back to sleep for a little while. Helianthus, thank you for being at least partially honest with me. Few are."

Her eyes close.

 

"Yes. Or at least I think so."
