Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Hmm... well, only time can tell what happens now..."

 

She shoots you several nervous glances before speaking.
"Forgive me, but are you also one of the gods of this world?"

 

"Yes, I am. I am Eras, the God of Darkness."

 

"Darkness? I suppose you've been called evil as much as I have... That's a bit tangent."
She takes a moment to collect herself.
"Would you know anything about stable rifts connecting this world to the Void? I saw them as a means to escape my pursuers, but if they don't close, I fear I may bring a few to you."

 

"Anyways, whats with all this vanishing?"

 

"Means of travel. Means of defense. Makes scouting easier. We aren't exactly welcome everywhere."

There's a pause.
"What?"
"No, that was... I haven't been in the archives since... It sounds accurate..."
She seems to reform in front of you, blades sheathed.
"Well, you're angry enough. Vent, take a shot. You didn't drink that for nothing, did you?"

 

"By rifts, do you mean portals? I know of two... one is hidden and the other opens into the capital of my kingdom, the Darklands. They both go to my Void Palace, which is in part of the Void."

 

"I... would I be allowed to visit sometime? I want to help, redeem myself for past actions... I'm tired of running."

 

"At some point, yes. Not many would try to follow you there."

 

"Thank you, Eras..." She bows to you. It's obvious she knows nothing about customs of other worlds.

You feel another telepathic link. Expecting Vei, my voice takes you a bit by surprise.
"She's used to following. Even before Xlentia fell, she only relayed orders. I think she wants to become your servant..."

 

"Maybe... we will see soon enough. It would suit her if she wishes to stay at the Void Palace. Normally, only my most faithful and brave followers can reach it anyway."

 

"She'll find her way there. You'd be surprised how fast they can move in the dark."

 

"Hmm... A duel?"

 

"No, you'd die. You get one free attack off as compensation for your time. Make it count and make it fast." She's impatient, staring at you.

 

I briefly pronounce an incantation, and echoes start booming around the entire compound. A few stones break free. Then, a beam of pure white light shoots through the tunnel, splitting into bits and ricocheting from all over the place. Then, an explosion can be heard somewhere nearby, an entire chamber collapsing. "I possibly got a bit more power than you though; possibly." I myself dissipate into thin air, reappearing somewhere else.

"Never!" You barely hear her yell.
...You don't notice any further traces of her.

 

"I hope so... there are some of the most dangerous monsters I've ever seen between the portals and the palace."

 

"I'm sure she'll be fine."

 

Between conversations, it seems Ihra's gone off on her own.
A glowing sigil lingers on the ground where she'd stood.

 

"While the lot of you were standing around like you were talking without your mouths, I believe Ihra has left."
I say in a questioning manor, pointing my sword to the sigil.
"Whether that means well or not, as of now, she's gone."
