Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“No, no, no! Don’t worry about it! Don’t call me Lady or anything, I’m still a child!” Ihra says, trying to backpedal.

 

"Oh...um...w-what should I call you to respect your status as a deity?" Tiril asks nervously.

 

"Don't! I-I mean, please. Please don't, just... pretend I didn't say that, okay? I feel bad every time someone bows to me, I don't want to make you feel lesser."

 

"Do you not like being a goddess?" Tiril inquires, confused.

 

"Not really... It's a ton of work, other gods think I'm naive because I'm so young... Everyone just wants to tell me how to do things, and nobody ever tries to help me figure out how I want to do stuff!" Ihra says, seeming flustered. "It's always I need to respect someone else more or I need to treat them like trash; there's always some other god treating me like a mortal that sometimes I wish I just was."

 

"Isn't that kind of l-like how it normally is though?" Tiril asks, seeming afraid of accidentally annoying Ihra, "W-We all have our place in this universe."

 

"I..." Ihra says, hesitating. "Well, can you promise to keep a little secret for me?"

 

Tiril nods obediently.

"I shall take it to my grave and beyond, La-, Ihra." Tiril says proudly.

 

Ihra links telepathically with Tiril, though a different sort of telepathy than normal.
"I'm not a god in the traditional sense. I... how do I put this? There are some books back home that call me the Allmother because my power is... well, I make stuff. I can make anything, really; even realities, other gods, and the like." Ihra says, nervous. "Like, I'm the being that makes stuff from nothing. That's what I'm the goddess of, if that even makes sense... which I don't think it does."

Ihra leaves a spell lingering over Tiril to keep him conscious.

 

Tiril looks at Ihra like she just told an unfunny joke.

"I...don't really believe you." Tiril responds.

 

"That's fine... hardly anyone does." Ihra sighs.

 

"I-I mean no disrespect, but there just isn't someone who does that. Not one singular being, at least," Tiril responds, "M-Maybe you can just channel t-transmutation magic really well?"

 

"I dunno. I don't even know how I work yet, I'm still learning just how far my powers go."

 

"How long have you been using them for?" Tiril asks, curious.

 

"Just about as long as I've been alive. Granted, that's not terribly long, I'm not older than a planet yet, but... I-I'll get there!" Ihra insists.

 

"Have you had some kind of...awakening yet?" Tiril asks, thinking.

 

"...Awakening? What do you mean by that?"

 

"Like, you sort of feel more in touch with your powers and can control them better, as well as do more with them." Tiril explains.

 

"See, that's the weird thing... I'm finding I can just do more and more new things every day. I first realized something super weird was going on when I could summon things from my memories of them, and they'd be exactly the same as I remembered them... like, everything would be exactly the same. Absolutely everything. After that, I found out that I could see how things work, just by looking at them. Like... I don't see you as a guardian, per se. You're made up of the same stuff guardians are, and you've got a connection to Gaia, but I can't actually, like... see you, just the stuff that makes you... well, you." Ihra says. "I know it sounds dumb, but... I dunno how else to say it. I have trouble seeing things normally, but I've been getting better at just looking at stuff as of late. Like, I used to not be able to see the paint on paintings; now I can see the picture. Sometimes. I guess it depends on the paint the artist used?"

 

"That...sounds like a god thing to me." Tiril says, laughing nervously.
