Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra shakes her head at the figure, her staff feeling as heavy as a neutron star.
"I'm not like that anymore." Ihra says, some sort of shield wrapping around herself and Tiril. "Let's not do this, especially not here."

 

The flames stop, and Tiril seems to calm down as the eye closes. Instead, the figure whispers something, and the trio begins to levitate.

 

Ihra seems immune, though she anchors Tiril to the ground.
"Return what you took from him and I'll let you go. If it's a fight you're looking for, however, take this out of town."

The chains seem to keep the figure at most at a fixed distance from Ihra.

 

"I-I don't think they took anything." Tiril says sheepishly.

The figure briefly takes out a tome of some sort, levitating with them as it's pages turn. The tome slides back under their cloak, and the figure goes limp; dead.

 

The chains disintegrate.
"They wouldn't have gotten far if they did, my sister was hoping to jump them." Ihra sighs. "You're okay though, right?"

 

"Y-Yeah, they just...f-freaked me out with that eye thing." Tiril says, shaken.

 

"Fair enough. Then you can say you're not a kleptomaniac."

 

“And you’re absolutely sure you didn’t lose anything? If you did, I do have means of getting it back.”

”Not to say I’m not a problem; I definitely am, but if there’s no reason then it’s as dumb as buying stuff you don’t need.”

 

Tiril nods, "Y-You're very kind, but I still have everything. I guess I didn't h-have anything they wanted."

The figure gets up from the ground, life somehow restored, and runs off before Ihra can do anything else.

 

"Well, that's why it's considered a mental disorder."

 

“I mean, it wouldn’t be the first time I’d have to go chase someone down to get something back.” Ihra sighs, starting to continue on towards the palace.

Iris’ staff seems to have been pinning their cloak to the ground, though Ihra seems to ignore that.
“Mess with my sister again and not even history will remember you.” She says, smirking.

“Gonna also need to explain what disorder means, I’m not book smart.”

 

The figure throws a potion bottle behind them as they escape toward the palace, which shatters into a wide pool of slick oil; covering the road ahead and tripping up everyone behind the figure.

 

Iris doesn't let the potion hit the ground, though she raises her staff to do so and doesn't bother chasing the figure.

 

The figure doesn't turn back, eventually jumping out of sight between a couple of buildings.

Tiril seems rather intimidated once the figure is gone, shaking a little.

 

Iris flashes Tiril a fanged smile, albeit without malicious intent, before vanishing.
“It’ll be okay.” Ihra says, trying to calm Tiril down.

 

Tiril looks close to fainting, but manages to hold on to consciousness.

"T-There's really n-nowhere s-safe in this r-realm, i-is there?" Tiril says, terrified.

 

“...Inside the palace is as safe as it gets.” Ihra sighs. “Beyond that, no it’s pretty bad here. I’m good friends with the king, so it hurts saying that, but... you’re kinda right.”

 

"W-Well, let's just get t-to the p-palace..." Tiril says, glancing around fearfully.

 

“Would you feel better if I told you I was also a goddess?” Ihra asks, trying to comfort him as she starts walking towards the palace again.

 

"H-Huh?" Tiril asks, fear from the realm turning into fear of doing something to insult Ihra, "Y-You are? L-Like Lady Iana?"

"I-I'm sorry, Lady Ihra, I-I should have acted b-better in your presence." Tiril says, worried.
