Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“I know it’s a dumb thing to ask, but do you mind taking me at least a bit seriously? I’m asking a lot from my crew leaving, and at the rate you’re going I’m concerned about never getting back in one piece.” Scurn says, annoyed. “I know I’m a lowlife, but up and leaving isn’t something I can just do with no consequence.”

Idhaenna lays a trap below the pair, having her mech ascend with Tiril as she mutters something under her breath.

 

"Oh, sure thing."
I say, genuine.

 

Scurn pauses.
"...Heh, I still can't tell if you're being serious." He smirks. "If it's any motivation to keep me intact, you've got a way to get in touch with Levi. If you need something stolen, I can pull some strings. I've never seen anything outside of the barrier, so... I've been over that before, haven't I?"

 

The spider burrows up to right under the trap, but doesn't surface, seeming to wait. Tiril looks terrified, seeming to know where the spider is too.

 

"Yes, I do believe so."

 

The moment it gets close, the ground in a sizable cube beneath the trap gets instantly moved to some other dimension, along with the spider.
Idhaenna flies up to Tiril.
"It'll be fine." She says, opening the mech cockpit. "I'm guessing you'd rather just warp to the capital?"

"Just making sure. I don't bother keeping track of that stuff half the time."

 

Tiril nods, too terrified for words. Nothing else seems to be waiting to jump out on the pair, however.

 

"Keep track of everything isn't all great all the time."

 

“Wouldn’t a robot be able to, though? A bio, I get that tracking everything is practically impossible, but I didn’t think robots had that problem.”

As Idhaenna warps the pair to the outer gates of the capital, the spider and ground is returned to its former location.
Upon arrival, she drops Tiril a few feet as her mech digitizes.
“Okay, now stop trembling. This is a civilized place.”

 

"Well, all that data's got to go somewhere, and sometimes it's a nuisance to dig around for what I'm looking for."

 

"T-Thank you, Lady Iana. D-Do you want anything from me? To spread word of your religion?" Tiril asks, seeming extremely grateful.

 

"Do not waste your piety on me; that belongs to your gods. I hope you will not speak ill of me, but I will notify Lady Gaia of your transgressions if you tell others to bow to me." Idhaenna says, serious. "I'm fine with you spreading word of my existence, but I have no interest in a following in this reality. Am I clear?" She asks, looking Tiril in the eye.

"Oh, yeah, I guess that does mean you've just got a lot of crap built up too..." Scurn mumbles, a bit confused.

 

"Y-Yes, Lady Iana. I-I'm sorry, Lady Iana." Tiril says, terrified again.

A couple of guards glance over at the scene, looking a little suspicious.

 

"Don't think about it too hard. I don't know my schematics either."

 

Idhaenna smiles, patting Tiril on the shoulder.
“Just don’t talk crap about me, and it’ll be fine. Here, consider this a parting gift.” She says, offering Tiril a small earpiece. “If you’re curious about anything, that’ll help answer any question you may have about me.”

“I’m trying to think of what to do while I’m here if the other reality is off the table. I really don’t want to just up and have wasted the time of my crew.”

 

Tiril sheepishly accepts the gift.

"T-Thank you, Lady Iana." Tiril says, scared.

 

"Seriously, stop freaking out. Just worry about getting yourself set up here." Idhaenna sighs.

 

"Y-Yes, Lady Iana. Sorry, L-Lady Iana." Tiril once again apologises scared and confused.

 

Idhaenna sighs.
"You're worrying me."

 

"I-I'll just leave, i-if that doesn't offend you, Lady Iana." Tiril says, glancing away.
