Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"No, everything seems to be running smoothly. Good luck, and thanks again."

Nothing's stopping him.
"Ugh, really? One question for you all; what will you gain after you kill me?"

"Usually the term 'okay' doesn't refer to being cut halfway open. You're not okay."

"He has a point. Don't let bitterness cloud the truth." Virei'tus mutters.

 

"Why should I listen to someone whose betrayed us?" Artemis asks, annoyed.


Stephanie surfaces in the cave Ihra and Ragnyon are hiding in.

"Hey, the coast is clear. Katie got hurt, so I'm here to get you out." Stephanie says, drenched in water.

 

"He hasn't betrayed you yet. If you keep blaming him over every superstition you have, though, he'll have no other choice."

"Thanks. Is Katie going to be okay?"
"It'll be better if you helped."
"Okay... That's concerning."
Ihra helps Ragnyon into the water, then realizes she has no clue how to swim.
"Uh... I don't..."
"We'll drag you there. Come on."
Ihra looks at the water nervously.

 

"He's sending an army on us! How is that not betrayal!?" Artemis shouts.


"Artemis is helping her, and she should be alright." Stephanie says.

Three blue crystals begin to circle around Ragnyon, and another three circle Ihra. Stephanie puts her arms out, "It's alright, we won't leave you behind." Stephanie says happily.

 

"If it was betrayal, why would he warn you about it?"

"Thanks."
"Well, let's go. You already look tired."

 

"The fact still stands that he's behind the army I was worried about coming to get Ragnyon. He probably wants something out of it, acting as a third party working for both sides." Artemis says.


Stephanie helps Ihra into the water, keeping a firm grip on her. The crystals begin to glow, and the water pulls the trio downwards, then upwards. The glow of the crystals is enough to light the tunnels.

Along the way, one of the tunnels seems to have collapsed in on itself; the water seems redder around where the tunnel collapsed.

 

"No matter what he does, you always blame him. Part of him is rightfully sick of you pinning fault on him eternally. The other part still wants to be friends, or at least something other than the enemy. You never gave him a chance; will that ever change?"
Virei'tus turns to you.
"Aj, help my credibility a bit here?"

 

"Listen to him, Artemis." I say.

"Well fine! You want me to be friends with him!?" Artemis shouts.

A familiar looking crystal appears in Artemis' hand, which she throws at a communication flower.

"Take your dumb friend back!" Artemis shouts.


Artemis' rage seems to be causing some of the healing vines to wither; blood starts trickling through some of the vines.

 

"Focus, Artemis! Don't kill your actual friend!"

 

Artemis turns back to Katie, doubling the vines and increasing the healing.

"Don't blame me when he murders Ihra, steals Ragnyon and destroys the world with Xlentia!" Artemis shouts, putting her hands on Katie's vines to increase the potency of the healing.

I sigh.

 

"Quite the lady you've got, Aj."

"Stephanie, will Katie be alright?"

 

"I'd rather you not insult my girlfriend," I say, slightly offended, "If you'd been what she's been through, you'd be reacting the same way."

"Hey Virei'tus, what's that behind you?" Artemis asks, looking at something behind Virei'tus.


"I hope so, as long as Artemis stays focused on her healing." Stephanie says.

The end of the tunnel looks to be in sight.

 

"It wasn't an insult, but I'll tread more carefully next time."
He turns partway around.

 

A vine hand tries slapping Virei'tus across the face.

 

He grabs it and crushes it in his grip.
"Yep, you definitely remind me of my sister. The non-corrupt version, at least."

 

Artemis sighs, and goes back to healing Katie.

Stephanie, Ragnyon and Ihra emerge from Katie's pool.

"I'm back." Stephanie says calmly; despite being soaked through.

 

"Can't take a compliment either? Sometimes I hate myself..."

"Katie..."
"HEAL HER FASTERER!" Ihra shrieks.
"That's... Oh boy."

 

"I don't want to be likened to your sister, who is hell bent on destroying Ihra and her friends." Artemis says.

Stephanie kneels beside Katie after retrieving her cloak, and summons a few green crystals. They seem to add to the healing.

"Thanks." Artemis says.

"No problem." Stephanie says, moving some of her wet hair out of her eyes.

 

"I said the not corrupt sister, but I give up."

"Sgavrinn, help me up?"
Ragnyon gently runs water over Katie, trying to help.

 

"What was she like before she...turned?" I ask.

With the combined efforts, Katie seems to heal a lot faster.

"Go help up Ihra, Sgavrinn." Artemis says telepathically.
