Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yeah, I guess I should've lead with that. We might be walking through prime Aj territory."

 

"Why is that?"

 

“And another question, why does he have such a plain name for being a murderous creep?”

“It just seems strange, compared to others who I take across the ocean. I couldn’t tell you why, and it’s nothing good or bad, really. Just different.”

 

"Sure, go ahead. Not like I can walk away from it anyway." I smile.

 

"Stars, skies and spirits? What a strange element to be a god over..." Leilia says, sounding confused.

"So you're similar to Lord Mortius?" Solus asks, curious.

"Should we do something about her disappearing and reappearing act?" Gaia quietly whispers to Lux as the light royalty talk.

"She's done no harm yet, though it is concerning." Lux whispers back.


The light royalty seem to be discussing Idhaenna's equivalent god of their reality, while it looks like Gaia whispers something to Lux. A lot of the guards seem to be on edge with Idhaenna's sudden appearance.

 

“Think of me as the equivalent of Mortius, Caelia, and air guardian form Gaia.” Idhaenna nods, before opening telepathic links with Gaia and Lux.
“I’ve been here for a few minutes, and this cloaking device is so old I’m surprised it actually kept me under your radar. And if you’re wondering how I heard you, the answer’s in my headset. I didn’t plan to interrupt again, but I’m sick of other people tarnishing my name before I get a say.”


Amethyst waits, still lurking in the carpets and rugs.

“I mean, I can’t explain it because I can’t pinpoint the reason. I know that everyone is their own person, but despite that you seem like a bit of an odd duck.”

 

"That's...a strange combination of our deities indeed," Solus says, a little confused, "Would you like to join us for our feast? It seems only right to have one with so many gods present."

"Do you want to stay for a feast?" Lux asks, looking over at Gaia's counterpart, "I understand your time here is limited."

Gaia tries to see if she can view Idhaenna's life force, to try and keep track of it's signal in future.


There's murmurs among the guards about a feast, most of them hoping to be a part of it due to the special occasion.

 

“Hah, I can’t say I’m opposed. Your gods, on the other hand, may not find that idea appealing. I’ll leave it to them, though I appreciate the gesture.” Idhaenna smiles.

“I could stay eternally, my time here is only limited by my will to make good on the sacrifices of my children to keep me alive.” Gaia says, bowing to Lux. “A feast may take my mind off of it for a spell, so why not?”

She can track it for the time being, but she can’t see it through Idhaenna’s mechsuit.

 

"Then we'll stay for the feast." Lux says, smiling and turning back to the royalty.

"Idhaenna can stay for the feast too." Gaia says, nodding.

"Excellent! Right this way." Solus says happily, turning around and heading down the hallway. Lux and Gaia begin to follow.


"All palace members are invited to the feast, too." Leilia says as the group begins to move, leading to mass cheering from the guards as they all begin to follow the gods - keeping their distance too.

People move en-masse around Amethyst; Amethyst herself presumably invited to the feast too.

 

Idhaenna glides down towards the other gods, keeping some distance as a hololens turns on in front of her left eye.
“I’m gonna be out a bit, uninterruptable. Put EBB back in the closet and prep the Stareater in case I take too long.” She mumbles.
“No, I don’t know when I’ll be back.” She says, her mech collapting into a small orb on her belt.
“Even by my own system I could retire, would you just relax? Just get EBB in the closet.”
“Just... shove the damn bee in the damn closet. Use a Teregecygian or something.”
“Fine, less than a median day.”
Idhaenna sighs, meeting her Gaia’s mildly annoyed gaze.
“What?”
Gaia shakes her head, turning away from Idhaenna.


Amethyst hitches a ride via a guard outfit to the feast.

 

Lux and Gaia share a look as they overhear what Idhaenna is saying, but don't say anything.

Eventually, the quartet is lead to a gigantic dining hall, hundreds of tables and chairs set out with a giant table set out with throne-like chairs at the far end of the room; overlooking the rest of the comparatively smaller tables. Chandeliers with unlit candles hang around the room, giant stained glass windows letting in coloured light as they depict figures of forest guardians and light creatures. Solus and Leilia head toward the giant table, six lush chairs laid out for the four extra gods. No food seems to be present, though there likely will be once everyone has arrived; guards and palace workers alike all waiting behind the gods and royalty.


Nobody notices Amethyst, likely in part from all the discussion about how great the food will be and how rare a feast of this scale is.

 

Gaia and Idhaenna wait for the other gods and thhe royalty to sit, though Idhaenna seems to be distracted by her hololens again.
“...No, I’m in the other reality because you botched things when they came over. I’m not doing anything to Praecantatia, period.”
“Stella will be fine. Nothing’s going to happen to anyone this time, trust me.”
“Yes, please do.”
Idhaenna sighs again, knowing her mutterings are audible.
“Sorry, I don’t usually go anywhere. I forget that me not sitting around my palace makes people ask questions.”


Amethyst leaves the guard’s uniform, looking towards the royals.

 

"I lived with animals for most of my lives, I myself am part animal and I dated a fox. Yes, I am well aware I am an odd duck."

 

“I was discounting the whole dating a fox thing because Anne’s part kitsune, but those are your words not mine.” The Leviathan chuckles.

 

"Hey, she still looked like a fox. Like most Kitsune, she couldn't turn into a human form, so of course people think I'm dating a fox."

 

“That’s true, but most people know that she’s a kitsune. When a fox plays tricks on you and knows magic, it’s generally signs of a kitsune. Especially when she’s burned half the forest down... twice.”

 

Lux and Gaia take their seats just after Solus and Leilia, glancing back at Gaia's counterpart and Idhaenna.

"Wow, these chairs are so comfy! Why don't you bring these to our meetings when we have them here?" Gaia asks Lux.

"You've always grown your own chair to sit on. I assumed you were comfortable sitting in that." Lux responds.

"Come, sit," Solus says, looking at Idhaenna and Gaia's countepart, "Don't let your communications stress you."


Everyone seems to be waiting for the last gods to sit, like trained dogs waiting to be told they can eat a treat.

 

"Okay, good point. I'll just state it that I dated someone who is significantly smaller then me."

 

Idhaenna and Gaia nod, sitting.
“I’m surprised you actually decided to stay.” Gaia says, looking dead at Idhaenna.
“I figure I may need to engage in local traditions if I am to... you know, not be hated?”
“Just don’t tinker in this reality.”
“One is enough.” She shrugs.


Amethyst waits, still a bit confused.

“Just say fox so you don’t sound like you tried to date a child.”

 

"Is everything alright, you two?" Leilia asks, looking over with a kind yet concerned expression.


Everyone suddenly bolts into the room once Idhaenna and Gaia's counterpart sit, all running to tables near to the gods and filling up the seats. Gaia watches the guards, palace workers and her own children rush in from her high table with an amused expression.
