"No, I mean, we're mutually beneficial to one another."

 

“So he has contacts, but what good are those if you’re left with all of the messes?”

 

"If I understand the Hive Master's powers correctly, sending his monks to fight him would come with the heavy risk of his monks being turned against him." Lux says.

The king and queen appear to be dressed in plain white clothes. However, the intensity of the light of their bodies causes it to spark into rainbows, shimmering at the edges and occasionally sparking across their clothing.

 

"I honestly don't know. Guess I just remember him that well. It's weird now that you mention it."

 

“If he isn’t willing to risk his followers at all, why does he risk himself? You know what... never mind. He’s always been enigmatic...”

“When’d you even meet him? Was he with the prophet?”

 

"He'd rather sacrifice himself than send those that look up to him to a horrible fate," Lux says, "I'd guess."

Light creatures line the sides of the road as the trio draws close to the palace gates, guards keeping a constant eye out. Many forest guardians work to make the gardens look as bright and healthy as possible, almost making them look overgrown.


Amethyst overhears hurried footsteps and shouting, though the words "gods", "Lux" and "Gaia" seem to be common among all the frantic shouts.

 

“They’re taught to disobey any questionable orders, even from him. I feel like they’d have done more than stay put, and Virei’tus doesn’t keep secrets with them.”


She cracks open her door, yawning.

 

Lux just shrugs as the trio approaches the royalty.

"Lord Lux, your presence is unexpected but as always, welcome," Solus says happily, "And it is quite a surprise to have you visit us too, Lady Gaia."

"Who is the third member with you?" Leilia asks kindly.


Guards and palace workers run past hurriedly, as if there's some emergency that needs everyone's attention.

"Quick, we need to be there for when Lux and Gaia step inside!" One of the guards shouts as they run past.

 

“I am also called Gaia. I am one of the six high gods of the reality now connected to yours.” Gaia says, bowing to Leilia.


“Which Gaia?” Amethyst calls, leaving her room out of curiosity.

 

"Two Gaias? How interesting!" Leilia says cheerily.

"Please, come inside. It would be rude to leave you out here." Solus says, standing aside with Leilia to allow the trio passage inside.


Amethyst doesn't get a response, people either too busy running or misunderstanding the question.

 

"The good part is being able to talk to gods."

 

Gaia follows her counterpart quietly, a bit more inclined to look around than hold conversation.


Amethyst sighs, trying to go where most of the guards are out of curiosity.

"I... okay, yeah. I guess that is worth tolerating an idiot." Scurn sighs.

 

The halls of the light palace seem to be made to accommodate the larger size of the royalty, though they'd still be too small if the gods switched back to their normal sizes. Beautifully crafted paintings of the royalty, various scenery from the kingdom and what look like captured moments from around the light realm are hung up infrequently along the walls as servants and guards rush about to help welcome the trio.

"Your palace has been maintained well, as I'd expect." Lux says positively, glancing back at Solus and Leilia who follow the gods inside.

"We'd expect nothing less than perfection for you, Lord Lux." Solus responds appreciatively.


Amethyst ends up following them to a large crowd waiting in ordered rows. Over the heads of the guards, she can clearly see King Solus and Queen Leilia, as well as Gaia, Lux and Gaia's counterpart standing with them.

 

"I would hope you think that, considering that's what you're asking for."

 

"Actually, I missed the part where I might have to interact with him. That would've been an easy no deal on my end, no matter what you had waiting for me."
"Don't wuss out now." Levi taunts.

"Perhaps Idhaenna would behave if she came here. She's usually okay in places this well-kept..." Gaia thinks to herself out loud.


Amethyst weaves herself into the floors, slipping between rugs and carpets to get closer.

 

"We may or may not have to go through him. Depends on how all this shakes down."

 

"Yeah, with Ragnyon."

 

“You have a strange memory.” The Leviathan comments, turning suddenly to shield you from a sizable wave.

“You know what, I think I can handle laying off stealing if it means staying very damn far away from that creep.”

 

"Who's Idhaenna?" Solus asks, curious.


The guards seem to get a little more stronger and well armed nearer the gods, though Amethyst finds no trouble in slipping in closer. Amethyst is easily able to overhear Solus asking who Idhaenna is.

 

“Ah, that is a story best saved for...” Gaia says, before sighing and rolling her eyes.
“What? You’ve slandered me enough. If they know nothing of our reality, they should be given more than one source of knowledge.” Idhaenna says, uncloaking from her seraphic mechsuit with arms crossed. “Idhaenna would be me, goddess of the stars, skies, and spirits. I owe the royalty of darkness more than I’d like to, though you two seem far more pleasant.”


Amethyst continues listening in, curious.
