“I had no intent to attempt, I just apparently suck at talking about not wrecking shit. And not wrecking shit in general. Anyhow, I’m guessing that I’m not the only one with something better to do at the moment? Unless you don’t want me to leave immediately for once.”


“Having a friend like you certainly helps.” Gaia chuckles, letting out a relieved sigh before taking another sip of tea.

 

"We have a mess to clean up here." Temporus nods.

"You can go speak to Ihra and become 'friends' again." Shadow Stephanie says with a smile, yet a sinister tone.


Gaia follows suit, pouring herself another cup of tea and drinking it.

"It's still so strange that I exist in another reality, but completely differently." Gaia comments.

 

“Oh, no, that fit wasn’t me for once. You lot actually pissed her off.” Iris chuckles. “Hard to believe, right? When’s the last time it wasn’t me screwing shit up with us?” She jokes, opening a portal and walking through.


“I feel bad the rift couldn’t have opened in safer times, but out of the few rifts I’ve seen and heard of, the local gods were never this tightly bound to the reality itself.”

 

"Not long enough ago..." Shadow Stephanie mutters.


"Well, in a way, we created this reality. It's hard not to be bound to it." Gaia says happily.

 

"Sgavrinn~"

 

“Oh, thanks for reminding me, no stealing. Don’t steal stuff.”

 

Iris shrugs, vanishing as Sgavrinn half-tackles Shadow Stephanie in a storm of licking and nuzzling.


"We both create with parts of our own vitality, yet it seems you're much closely bound to your children than mine are to me. I can create, but their demise does not weaken me physically... mentally is another story, despite their mortality."

"You're kidding, right?"
"I don't think he's kidding. You're going to somewhere civilized."
"Shit."

Your bestial form shoots up, awake.

Where is he? Wait... what? Is someone talking to us?

 

Shadow Stephanie pets Sgavrinn thoroughly in response, smiling.


"The demise of my children doesn't necessarily weaken me...it just hurts a little if it's before their time." Gaia says, sounding a little depressed.

 

"Oh, sorry. That was me just messing around."

"Tried to have ourselves sleep-talk, you see?"

 

He hums happily, acting like he hadn't seen Shadow Stephanie in years... or like he woke up and watched the prior scene unfold.


"I meant in the sense you can reclaim their strength, so to speak. Unless we are more similar than I thought, as I only know how Lady Tenebrae and Sir Lux are tied to their children."


Amethyst, stirring after a couple months, decides to start her renewed consciousness by looking at the pile of presents she had from quite a while ago, or at least where they used to be.

Wait, you can make me sleep-talk? I'm totally trying that on you next time! But, uh... if you don't mind, I'd like to go back to sleep?

 

"My strength grows back naturally, like the world around me. I have no need to reclaim what I have gained back." Gaia explains.


Amethyst appears to have been left completely undisturbed, bar cleaning so she doesn't get dusty.

 

“So we are the most alike out of the others in yet another way...” Gaia chuckles.


Curious, she gets up, takes the smallest gift in the pile, and peeks outside of her room a bit confused.

 

"Yeah, sorry. Do continue."

 

Gaia smiles, enjoying her counterparts company.


The smallest gift seems to be a large packet of unique seeds, a round, blue fruit presented on the cover.

 

After a minute of calm quiet, Gaia looks up at her counterpart again.
“I do have a question, though I’m not sure how to put it politely. Fire seems to represent anger here, though from my home it also is the only other form of healing magic. Is there a reason for that, or is it just how things came to be here?” She asks, curious.


Confused, Amethyst looks around for anyone else.

Your beast form tosses and turns for quite a while, before groaning.

Falling back to sleep is hard.

 

"Again. I'm very sorry. I didn't think it would actually wake you."

 

It’s fine. May as well have a bit of fun, I suppose.

 

"Glad I'm not the only one that thinks so."

 

"Fire is destructive and powerful. It is unpredictable, and doesn't always yield to the control of a guardian. Such traits have been linked to anger, where someone's actions become unpredictable and uncontrollable, both leaving damage in their wake," Gaia explains, "The only elements of healing are Water and Life."


Amethyst's room seems to be completely empty, aside from a small platter with a note.

 

“Water? Interesting. Might I watch water used to heal at some point?”


She looks over the note, steadily growing more confused.
