Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shatter stands aside, but Kiin defiantly holds her scepter towards Chroma's neck.
"Leave my sis out of this next time." She demands.
Chroma glares at her, before nodding.
"If I can save her, I will."
"That wasn't a request."
Chroma hesitates, nodding again.
"As you wish."
"You know who I am. Say it again."
"As you wish... Admiral." Chroma says, after a swallow.
"Go." Kiin says, stepping aside.

Chroma slowly walks away, seeming shaken.

 

"Yes."

"Why does she have all those things walking around?!"

 

"Go jump off a building!" Abigail shouts after Chroma, still annoyed.

Cel sighs, heading inside his home.

 

"Already done." He calls back.

Kiin walks in behind Cel, Shatter sinking back into the ground.

"In that case, I'm going to go pick up a new sewing kit. Don't let anything out, okay?"

I don't know, but she doesn't need to tell us not to let anything out twice!

 

Katie and Abigail follow behind, Cel gesturing for the group to go left into a large living room with a fireplace and television; as well as a small group of game consoles hooked up to it.

"I'll make some tea." Cel says, heading to his kitchen.

 

"You better close everything properly before you leave me here with these beasts!"

"...please.."

 

"Well, both are goddesses, so their forms may be insignificant."

 

"Does this mean I found the living room?" Kiin jokingly asks Katie.

Shatter lets his spines stick out of the ground just outside Cel's door, seeming to rest.

"Unless they're omnipotent, forms matter about as much as abilities."

The gorgon laughs.
"You're not one for the exotic, are you?" She sighs, holding a padlock. "Don't worry, they'll be in here. Just one thing; I'm not really supposed to have them as pets, so if you wouldn't mind keeping quiet about them I'd appreciate it."

 

Katie smiles appreciatively at the joke.

Abigail and Katie sink into a pair of Cel's large, ornate chairs. After a short while, Cel returns with a tray of drinks. He silently gives Katie an ice-tea, Abigail a steaming hot chocolate and Kiin a glass of apple juice; leaving a glass of a fizzing substance to himself.

 

"Sure. Anything to stay away from them."

 

"Well, I'd like to not talk in circles about it, so what's your point?"

 

"In that case, alternate question; care to bring me there? If nothing else, I should be able to find my way around the Void."

"Sounds like a fair deal. Come on, I don't want to lock you in here." She says, opening the lock and standing next to the door.

Kiin tries to take a sip, though the juice freezes on contact with her tongue. She opts to turn it into an ice pop around her tongue and eat it, though seems a bit annoyed with having to do so.

 

"Right. Me neither."
I make my way outside the door, at a fast pace.

 

"He looked different to what you described." Cel says suddenly, looking at Abigail.

"Hm?" Abigail asks, looking up from her hot chocolate.

"Chroma." Cel clarifies.

"Oh, yeah. I think he got what he deserved for pestering me." Abigail says offhandedly, sipping her drink.

"He'll probably come back." Cel predicts.

"God, I hope not. I've got enough problems as it is with-" Abigail tries to say.

"You can stay here while things die down. I needn't hear all your problems. As I said when we were at the arcade, you went there to blow off steam and that's all I needed to know. I don't need to hear about it." Cel says bluntly.

Abigail nods.

"Sorry, Ce-" Abigail tries to say again.

"Don't apologise, you did nothing wrong." Cel says, smiling slightly.

Abigail seems a little annoyed at first, before smiling back; letting out a long exhale.

 

“He’ll be back. I wish you didn’t hate him, though.” Kiin sighs. “Or everyone, for that matter.”

Once you leave, she steps outside and locks the door, rattling the lock to make sure it latched.
“There. Feel better now?”

 

"I don't hate everyone!" Abigail says, offended.

"You're more easily hostile than you are friendly." Cel comments.

"Is that such a bad thing?" Abigail asks, annoyed.

"No, but it can often lead to impressions such as this." Cel says.

Katie quietly sips her ice tea, watching the conversation happen.

 

I sigh from relieve.
"Yes. Way better."

 

"I mean, one of the first things you did with Apocalypse is insult her. And then you trash talked Ihra. And now you sound like you hate me." Kiin says, a bit nervous with Abigail's reaction.

"You really don't like snakes, huh... are there none on the mainland?"

 

"I didn't trash talk Ihra! I have no idea where everyone is getting this idea that I trash talked her from!" Abigail says defiantly, annoyed.

 

Kiin sighs, taking a few steps back from Abigail.
"Ihra is a goddess. Ihra is Apocalypse's goddess. You insulted Apocalypse's goddess, which is Ihra. You insulted Ihra." Shatter chimes in from outside. "We all heard you. Ihra heard you. Except for Cel, he wasn't there. That doesn't change that you spent two minutes trash talking Ihra because Apocalypse decided to rile you up."
"Please don't make her go murder-angry again..." Kiin asks, nervous.
