Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yes!" Abigail suddenly shouts happily, a keyboard on her screen rather than arrows and a dancing girl. She seems to be able to navigate the keys with the arrows, tapping in 'A B I G A I L' and submitting it; her name appearing in second place on a high scores board with a score of 13955250.

 

"Oh.. okay."
I try to sound disappointed.

"Thank god..."

 

“Okay, then reality.”

 

"Where'd sis go?" Kiin asks Abigail, seeming a bit adverse to interacting with Cel further.

"See, that's information that we were hoping for since we were apparently isolated from whatever opened up to the rest of this reality on the other side of that rift." Scurn says, frustrated.
"I wonder if they have leviathans there too?" Levi asks, not terribly bright but curious.
"I didn't need your input right now!" Scurn retorts.

"Is my pet out there?" The gorgon calls, apparently having heard your comment.

I swear she can hear everything in this place...

 

"Huh? Oh, I think she went over to those coin-pusher machines." Abigail says, turning around and pointing towards the entrance of the arcade.

 

Kiin wanders off towards where Abigail pointed, looking for Katie.

Anyone who walks a bit too close to her will notice below-zero temperatures.

 

Kiin ends up making a passing fire guardian pass out and turn ash-gray, which seems to cause a slight disturbance in the arcade.

Kiin finds Katie where Abigail said she would be, taking silver coins from a cup and putting them into the machines full of them. The coin bounces down the pegs at the back, before landing on an upper platform filled with coins. The coin ends up pushing coins up the front over the edge, which in turn push coins near a drop-off at the front of the machine ever closer to the edge. Katie seems to stare intently for a moment at the movement of the coins, before taking out another coin.

In addition to the shining mess of coins in the machine, various prizes appear to be present atop them. One appears to be a small fluffy toy shaped like a red wolf, another seems to be a lollipop, while one seems to be a ticket of some kind; though it appears to be on it's front.

 

“Sis, what do I do if someone bumped me and then fell over?” She asks, tugging at Katie’s shirt.

 

"Hm?" Katie asks, glancing down at Kiin with a thin white stick protruding from her mouth.

 

Kiin points at the fallen over fire guardian.
“They bumped into me and then fell over.” Kiin says, confused. “I dunno what to do.”

 

Katie looks shocked, putting her hand on Kiin's arm to see how cold she is.

 

Kiin’s arm feels about as cold as dry ice, though only to the touch.

 

Katie runs over to the unconscious fire guardian - that seems to have gathered quite a crowd - before looking around for some water.

Kiin notices a silver coin in a tray beneath the machine Katie was using, seemingly missed by her.

 

Kiin picks up the coin and looks it over, curious.

Katie notices that Kiin’s staff lets her conjure water, albeit from a distance.

 

The coin has a symbol for fire on it with "1" just below it on one side, while on the other side it has a picture of a fire guardian with strange lettering in a different language around it.

Katie focuses her powers, the air around her warming a little before she blows a cool air on the fire guardian, who seems to become a little redder.

 

Kiin stretches up to try and compare the coin with the ones in the machine.

 

They all appear to be fairly identical, other than age and their past owners affecting them differently.

 

"It's not big to begin with."

"If your pet is a snake, then yes, it is out here."

 

Do they have leviathans in my reality?

 

You are both in your original reality and in a leviathan, so probably.

"You closed the door, right?"

You whispered that, though, where is she even working?

Kiin tries to climb up onto the stool, trying to get a better view of Katie through the crowd.
