Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What does she have against magic?" Cel asks, almost sounding a little offended.

 

"Right. Right."

I'll take a seat, somewhere.
"I'll wait here."

 

“I don’t mean you sound like her in that part. She just has a bunch of robots and stuff everywhere, but for whatever reason she really really hates magic users. I guess maybe she doesn’t get along with our god of magic, but I’m not sure why she hates magic so much.” Kiin shrugs.

You wind up sitting down next to a snake which doesn’t seem to react to your presence.

 

"Hm. Seems like she has some past problems with magic users." Cel says, before looking a little annoyed.

"Stand back, please." Cel asks.

 

"Oh. She got pets. Great..."

"Hello~" I say to the snake.

 

Kiin scoots back, confused.

It looks up towards you, and considering you don’t turn to stone it seems to be a normal snake.

Its tongue flicks in and out rhythmically, though it decides to give you a bit more space.

 

Cel rubs his hands together, before taking them apart and clapping them. A surge of electricity explodes from his hands around his body, before he places them on his laptop. The electricity flows from his body and down his arms and hands into his laptop; the laptop itself seeming to brighten quite a bit. Then, as quickly as it appeared, the electricity fades, Cel's laptop making a positive sound.

Cel goes back to tapping away on his laptop, his hair - stood up from the electric burst - beginning to fall.

 

Kiin jumps a bit, startled.

 

Cel barely glances over, seeming completely unphased by the experience.

 

“Why’d you do that?” Kiin asks, still curious but now wary.

 

"Battery was low." Cel says.

 

“Don’t those charge themselves usually?”

 

"I don't have enough money to afford those batteries. I don't need them though." Cel shrugs.

 

“Aren’t there also magic crystal things that hold electricity?”

 

"That's what I was talking about. Such batteries exist, where they can recharge themselves through mage crystals. I can't afford them but I don't need them with my abilities." Cel says, continuing to type.

 

“I thought the crystal things were the batteries. If they’re different, what does the battery do?”

 

"It stores electricity in a different way to mage crystals. It's more stable." Cel says, sighing.

 

“Isn’t electricity just magic though?”

 

Cel shakes his head.

 

Kiin just seems confused.
