Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The human city seems to be full of life, the only dead present in a graveyard next to a large church.

 

"It's me. The one from the wedding dress? I.. uh.. got some things to discuss, if you have time."

 

Amber turns back, not looking to stir trouble with the living.


Kiin eventually comes to, seeming a bit impatient.
"Are we still going to look for mum and dad today?" She asks Katie.

"Come in, and close the door behind you. I'll be just a minute."

 

"Oh, awesome. Thank you."
I walk in and close the door behind me.

"Need me to lock it aswell?"

 

Katie doesn't seem to be present, though Kiin wakes up near to Cel, tapping away on his laptop as usual. Abigail is also nearby, presumably trying to get the high score on the dance game again. The girl with the giant leek is also present on screen, dancing seeming to have become a little more hyper as Abigail is tasked with hitting multiple arrows at once in quick succession.

 

Still curious about Cel, Kiin scoots towards him.
“Why’re you so busy on that thing?”

The door clicks heavily as you close it.
“No, people aren’t usually dumb enough to try to break through a closed door.”
Pause.
“Just so you know, she already came by. Told me to have the door open in case you came. Said you usually ride the Leviathan to the mainland, and with the clouds rolling in she wanted you to have somewhere dry to stay because she was riding it somewhere.”

 

"I'm coding." Cel responds.

 

"How thoughtful. So you already know the news then?"

 

"Yes, things went south. I can't un-make the clothes, so I'll just hold on to them in case one of you finds another special someone. They're already paid for, anyways." She calls.

"What's coding do?" Kiin asks, more interested in the laptop than Abigail.

 

"It's a set of actions you tell a computer to execute." Cel tries to explain.

Abigail doesn't seem to pay Kiin any mind, too focused on hitting the arrows beneath her feet.

 

“So it’s like magic, but the computer does it instead of mana?” Kiin asks, clearly a bit confused.

 

"Sure." Cel says dismissively, shrugging.

 

"If I can find someone who is so small, otherwise I don't think I will need it much." I awkwardly smile.

 

"Why not just use magic, then?"

"I mean you keeping your suit. I don't expect you to spend your life with a fox, aside from the fact that theirs tend to be shorter than yours."

 

"Ah. Yeah, I would like to have one."

"I don't really have a place to store it though... Downside of living in the forest, I suppose."

 

"Would a different realm have a different Gaia?"

 

"It doesn't quite work that way. Computers need code to read, having magic do it would either be the same or more complex." Cel says, adjusting his multicolour shades.

 

"Realm, no. Reality, yes."

"I've held on to things for years for people before. Don't worry about it, there's room here."

"You sound like miss Idhaenna, except she hates magic." Kiin comments, not quite satisfied with the answer given.

 

"Alright. Care to lead me to my room then?"

 

“Still need just a minute.” She says, sounding tired.
