Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yeah, I know."

 

"Isn't it kind of uncomfortable to keep a shield in a robe like that?"
I ask, bending my knees like I'm about to lunge in their direction, only to blast off towards my original direction.

 

“Yours, perhaps. I’ve never been there.”

“That would be an understatement.” They say, blinking backwards to continue vaguely obstructing your path.

“Stop messing with him and just knock ‘im out.” Levi mumbles.

“Well, you know where to find me if you need anything. Go see the world, Bardock.”

 

"I'm not going too far. I'll explore som other beaches or something."

 

"Well, perhaps we'll meet somewhere out in the void if I decide to hunt down Emerald." I say, smiling.

 

“Might feel better if it was on your back.”
I continue in my original direction past them, anticipating another blink so that I can lunge at them the moment they appear.

 

"You'll have to go to the mainland for that. The rest of the coast here is... either a cliff or a swamp."

"Assuming I allow it." He snickers, all eyes reverting back to normal. "Besides, if you don't mind me taking my leave before things get a bit messy... Lady Iris isn't terribly pleased you didn't notify her the moment you stepped off that mountain."

They seem to anticipate your lunge, knocking you off balance with the blunt end of one of their spears as the others keep you from getting a good swing off with your hammer.
"I only have the wake of your resistance group to go off of, but based off that history I won't be feeling anything for long. You may be different, but the rest of them are why I swore my life to Exksys."

 

"And why is that?" I ask, seeming uncaring.

 

"Yeah, what's with that. This island has a weird layout."

 

“Apparently you, I quote; ‘owe her a duel or at least not to blow her off again for the too many-th time.’ She’s a bit pushy, but I’ve never heard of her getting that irritated with everyone.”

“I don’t know what else to tell you. Nature doesn’t always make sense.”

 

"I don't remember saying that, nor do I want to fight a god." I say.

 

I shurg
"Just the way the world was made I guess."

 

“That’s a fair take.”
I shrug, blasting off in the original direction again, alert to this guard impeding me again.

 

"I wish I never would say this, but I suggest you consider appeasing her. Something tells me I'm not the only one who would rather she not look for an excuse to go on a rampage."

They strike from behind, but you seem to have sensors that let you preemptively block their attack and knock them off balance instead.

"You've got about a minute left, and you're making there be one more fool coming to me than I can tolerate." Levi grumbles.

"I don't know if it goes that far back... things can change on a much bigger scale. Regardless, no sense in you daydreaming here. Go try and find your pack, if nothing else." Rema suggests.

 

I let out a long and annoyed sigh.

"What does she want, a flowery gift basket?" I ask.

 

"Yeah. I'll see if I can find a trip across water."

 

I try grabbing the guard and simultaneously going for a jet-propelled shot to the temple of their head.

 

"I don't know, but if she asked you for a duel then I'd think more of the opposite." Arkclal shrugs. "Plus, nothing I do seems to change much... she just chooses to ignore me if I'm here."

"You came here from the mainland in the first place, I'm sure you can find another way back over."

Based on most of you getting splattered with blood, they won't be guarding much at this point.

 

I glance out of the carriage, a commotion beginning to happen as it draws closer to the main city. A number of other carriages seem to be heading in the same direction, and people seem to be making their way up to the palace.

"Hm, maybe she's become mind controlled." I say.

 

For good measure, I lift them and throw them down the hall in the opposite direction of where I’m going, then continue along my way.
