Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Arkclal shakes his head, meeting your gaze dead-on with half of his eyes glassy.
"Only when you choose to make it so. Usually after I become submissive, or reminisce more than a quick mention of my family. You're still on hyperalert, still hunting for a weakness."

"That's not common tech. What're you doing near the front lines, anyways?"

"You can't. This isn't a place in the dream world. If you want back, wake up."

 

"Trying my best, really. That's about it."

 

I seem to calm down.

"I hope your abilities are enough to save you from death, for your own sake. Death guardians are always the most fun to fight, because you get to practise confusing them on what timeline we're on." I say, smiling, eyes completely red.

 

"Do you toy with everyone like this?" He asks, stoic.

"You don't really seem the whole murderous type. Nor do you seem terribly used to the whole front line stuff. What do you do, clean up the mess the others leave behind like you did here?"

 

"Not everyone." I say.

 

Arkclal rolls his eyes.
“The fact that I didn’t see that one coming is embarrassing. And rude on my part. Perhaps I should ask Arie to count how many times I’ve apologized to you, because I’ve lost track. Regardless, we’re at n plus one now.”

 

"Oh, now I get it. Okay. Yeah, this makes way more sense."

 

I smirk, glancing out of the carriage

"Not much longer now." I mention

 

"More oddjobs, I guess. I'm still looking for that vault of texts. Sometimes I clean up messes."

 

"I didn't expect the carriage to cover that much distance that fast. Then again, my brother spent a good portion of the time going out of his way to fight things..." Arkclal sighs.

"If there was a vault that went uncracked by me, it was either mine or not a thing that exists. If it was mine, you're not going in there."

"I... don't really know what you expected." Rema says, a bit confused.

 

“The vault I’m looking for is a vault around here that keeps changing location. It has some forbidden texts I’m supposed to destroy.”

 

"I'm royalty, they'd hardly stick me with a slow carriage," I say, "Besides, time flies when you're having fun."

 

"I probably just thought too difficult about it."

 

“Oh, those. No, they’re too useful to dispose of. Or give back to the people I stole them from.”

“You’re starting to sound like your bestial form.” Rema chuckles.

Arkclal smirks.
“This all is a game to you, isn’t it?”

 

“Shame.”

 

“If that’s gonna be a problem, I could just leave you down here lost.” Scurn offers, sounding sarcastic.

 

“And leave me down here with nothing but Levi pestering me until the end of eternity? You wouldn’t dare.”
I joke back.

 

"It's good to keep up an appearance to deceive. If I were to act strong all the time, my foes would rise to that level to counter me. If I act foolish and carefree, my foes will underestimate me." I say.

 

"I'm sure the maintenance crews will come down here pretty quickly. Once they exist again, of course."

"People like you make my job painful." Arkclal laughs. "In a land like this, though, I'd think that would be a minimum requirement of sorts."

 

"Of course. Most Shadows can't really stay in sunlight for more than a millisecond, so possessing others and pretending to be them is the best way to survive and attack." I say happily.
