Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The dragon stays airborne, flying towards me as I face it head on. Just before we collide - the dragon's mouth open in an attempt to bite - I drop and cut off it's wounded leg. The dragon sprays blood from it's now missing leg, covering some of the carriage.


"Hmm..." The water guardian says, seeming to decide on whether to trust Fenira, "What's this captain's name?"

 

I take it back.
“Nice work.”

“Naturally.”

 

Arie seems a bit distracted trying to see past the blood rain.


"I've been alive here for about three days, how exactly am I supposed to know details about this place?" Fenira asks, a bit annoyed. "I only know what I heard when I came here crawling to Lady Gaia for a second chance to fix what I screwed up a long time ago."

Scurn shrugs.
"You said you were looking for some runes?"

"There are exactly two people in this cave right now, and the door isn't exactly soundproof. Where were you last night?"

 

"Out on the beach. You know, looking at the sunset."

 

Rema pushes open the door, seeming irritated.
"This says otherwise." She says, tossing the scrap of fabric at you. "Why did you go back there?"

 

"...Sure."

 

Scurn pulls out another small device from his pocket, fixing it around his other ear.
"Don't worry, Levi and I haven't given our leaks to the wrong people. Or anyone, at that."

 

"Who's Levi?"
I ask, idly checking to see if all of my belongings are still there.

 

Everything else is there.
"I'm sure Stella will know."

"He's the thief... Leviathan was unfinished, not even meant for public presentation. How did he piece it together without everything...?"

 

"Is there something I should be concerned about?"
I send to Stella, not bothering to respond to Scurn.

 

"Someone's int__fe_in_ __t_ __e ___n__"

The yellowish orange hue is replaced with a deep blue, and a wireframe sea serpent's face appears over the majority of your view.
"Haha! Get wrecked, goody two shoes! Alright, I'm in- hold on, transponder? That explains this holonet... hey, who're you?" They ask, their expression quickly turning to confusion.

 

A chunk of dragon foot startles the horse beasts a little, causing the carriage to rock a little as both the dragon and I flip around to go in for a second strike. The dragon seems far angrier this time, and seems to get a little bigger as it lets out a terrifying roar which seems to shake the land.


The water guardian seems rather displeased with Fenira, narrowing his eyes at her.

 

Arie sends out another volley of spines towards the dragon as it parts from you, interrupting its roar.


"No no no, stop looking at me. Look away from the heads. Please look away from the heads." She says, panicking.

 

"Back there? It was the first time I've been there."

 

Rema waves a claw, the exit of the cave glowing with a dull barrier.
"I'm going to tell you a past we've tried to bury. If you so much as mention any hint of what I say, we're both as good as dead. Am I clear?" She asks, serious.

 

The dragon dashes out of the way of the spines, spinning to avoid them; though one manages to pierce it's tail. The dragon dives down, before swooping up toward me from below. I hole Shadow Katana ready, before swiftly dodging to the side and letting myself fall with Shadow Katana held outward. The dragon flies through the blade, cutting it's entire head and neck in half as it does so, and leaving a slice through it's body. The dragon is only carried upwards by momentum before it falls, the carriage driver quickly getting the horses and the carriage itself out of the way of the corpse.


The water guardian pulls back the ice hand, before throwing Fenira into the ocean like a caught fish. He turns around to return to teaching his students.

 

Arie runs after the corpse, seeming raring for a fight.
"Thhh... rrr-et." She roars, charging forward with strength beyond a dozen earth guardians propelling her every step as she tries to tackle the corpse exoskeleton-first.


Fenira stops entirely with a single flap of her wings, her grunt being drowned out by a massive gust of wind.
"Look, I'm sorry I interrupted... but I'm done being thrown aside. Not from anyone. Tell me where pirates usually patrol or tell me you don't know, then I'll leave you." She says, her heads showing conflicting emotions as she looks towards the guardian's feet. One looks worried, the second desperate, and one furious.

 

The corpse flips over, Arie pushing through the scales and ending up inside of it as she tackles it. I simply head back into the carriage, smiling.


The water guardian focuses, before stomping the floating icy ground below him. A large sphere of ice forms around the icebergs, too thick to smash easily, sealing them in and Fenira out.

 

Arie sinks her arms into the ground, massive grinder-like talon lined tentacles utterly pulverizing the corpse.


“You fool, you really thought anyone would listen to you?”
“It’s different here. This isn’t home. This is safe...er.”
“We were hunted for being monsters. Nobody listens to monsters. They are hunters.”
“We interrupted them. They have every right to shut us out.”
“We need to move on... I’ve cast enough shadows already.”

Fenira glides over the sphere, seeming annoyed with herself.

 

“Is that question directed at me?”
