Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Two of them, and I can’t really say what happens because if I step out to get a better view I have severe personal problems.”


Fenira silences herself, curiously observing the guardians while avoiding eye contact.

 

Can I wake myself up, seeing as I am not in control at the moment?

 

"You sure it isn't just tricking you?" I ask before leaping out of the carriage. Something big passes overhead, before roaring again.


Some guardians seem to be drawing water from the ocean, then freezing it, and then unfreezing it and repeating the process. Others appear to be shaping crude weapons from the ice, trying to shape the water before it freezes or shift it once it's frozen; though they more often end up breaking the ice.

 

"Assuming this place is still burning, I'm still in a rush. You don't happen to know the location of a vault that consistently moves, do you?"

 

“As many coincidences just aligned... no. I didn’t know they kept anything interesting here.” He says.

You are in control, and you are awake. Your bestial form just isn’t responding.

“I can only see so far.”

Arie uncurls herself as you jump out, looking at you with a curious look.


Fenira tries to suppress a chuckle, but fails.

 

"Right. Of course."
I take the time to take in the surroundings a bit more.

 

Some of the others pass out from fear, the others just opt to look away. The one Idhaenna shot walks towards you.
“Do you know how to stop electrical fires?”

 

I seem to jump onto the large beast passing overhead, the beast flying around the carriage as I attempt to mount it. From a distance, it appears to be a gigantic shadow-like dragon, though two more seem to accompany it as it tries to throw me off of it's back with a spin.

Fenira soon finds herself in the cold grasp of an ice hand, a more experienced water guardian walking over to investigate.

 

"Depends. Elaborate."

 

“They used some sort of lightning coil to ignite the metal parts of structures and standard flame to ignite wood. We can help with water, but not the metal part.”

Arie fires her spines at its head, trying not to launch anything particularly close to you.


“You just had to have a flashback, didn’t you?” Fenira mumbles to herself.

 

"Show me. I'll see what I can do."

 

"Outside, everywhere. The metal keeps the fire burning." He says, turning down the hall opposite of Idhaenna's route.
As he approaches the stairs, he summons an arch of water before turning it to stone.
"Don't worry about her too much. People like me are why she's like the way she is."

Stella flashes a small light in your peripheral vision to remind you of her presence.
"That kid's part of a group of spellthieves. Scurn is his street name, infamous for smuggling a few crates of tech out of Idhaenna's palace. You shouldn't have any issues if he tries to give you problems."

 

"Come on."
I try to get up. Like, push and pull.

 

You get up just fine, though Rema seems to have heard you talking to yourself.

She knocks on the door, nudging the rock a bit.
"You awake in there?"

 

I continue to follow him, my face blank.
“What’s your name, kid?”

“Thanks for the info.”
I send to Stella.
“Feel free to give me more anytime.”

 

I leap from the first dragon onto the second, the first dragon falling before dissipating into nothing; it appears to have just been an illusion. I miss the second dragon by a short distance, and use Shadow Katana to dig into it's leg to hold on. The dragon roars as it bleeds, trying to throw me off and bite me in half; though I manage to hold on.


"What...are you?" The water guardian asks once they see Fenira, looking confused.

 

Arie fires another spine towards its shoulders, and another at its head if it rears back away from you.


“Well you’re not trying to cut a head off, so we’re off to a good start.” Fenira sighs.
“I’m a hydra, more specifically a stonegazer hydra. You know, cut one head and two grow back? Except with the whole gorgon gaze turning stuff to stone thing. Your expression tells me I don’t really have to say that I’m new here.”

“Everyone calls me Scurn. Stealin’s my job.” He says, turning and offering you your amethyst sword.
“Not been at it long... but long enough.”

“I can’t elaborate over everything, there’s just not enough time.”

 

I fall from the dragon is it too falls, the third and final dragon seeming to inherit the wound I gave it. Wings sprout from my back as I fly towards the last dragon, who seems more focused on me now than it does the carriage and horse beasts.


"Why are you here, then?" The water guardian asks, suspicious.

 

If the dragon hits the ground, Arie goes after it to try and bash it with part of her exoskeleton. Otherwise, she moves slightly further from the carriage.


“Lady Gaia graced me with a second chance at life. I want to see what is here, see who is here. Eventually, I need to tie up loose ends from my prior life. One of those loose ends is with a guardian pirate captain, and I figured that most pirates would be out in the ocean.

 

"How did you..? I mean, yeah, hi."
