Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I suggest if you want help in losing the war, you find and apologize to Abigail. At least make amends." The air guardian says bluntly.

 

Crystal melts his lower half into the ground, waiting.


I nod.
“Yeah.”
I step through.

 

"She's unforgiving even to people who save her life..." Chroma grumbles. "But... I may have better luck with the shadows themselves. Should I find Abigail, I intend to explain myself and apologize. I only have three hours now before I'm... back there."

The trade process goes silently.


You find yourself falling into a dark abyss, currents carrying you gently through an icy tunnel.
The water doesn't seem to be affecting you at all.

 

Crystal starts playing around in the puddle of himself.


I relax, letting the water carry me.

 

Chroma's hands are released from their binding.

"I suggest you go." The air guardian says, serious.

 

He shifts around a bit before looking the air guardian dead in the eye.
"...Where will I find Abigail, then?"

Puddles pokes at Crystal, curious.


After a while, you're washed out into another portal and are intercepted as you are pushed down by a waterfall.
"Thirteen, right?" A merfolk asks, pushing you against a slow flowing river.

 

Crystal pokes back, then makes a sort of instrument by hardening his body into holes and commanding wind through it.
He's not good at playing this instrument, whatever it is.


"That's me."
I nod, as much as I can in water.

 

"I'm sure you'll be able to find her if you look hard enough. I wouldn't advise going to her home though, she's not there." The air guardian says, clearly not willing to offer much help.

 

"Great first impression then..."

 

Chroma nods, heading straight for Abigail's house.

"I mean, I didn't know what you were gonna do to me. Killing me is just as bad."

Shack cringes.
"Please stop before you attract anyone else." Fireweed says, annoyed.


The water doesn't seem to affect your movement.
"Well... I suppose I should recap why you're here. You're gonna get stood in front of Lord O'rogal's glacial barrier, and when the drums are struck a third time, you are allowed to fire your weapon of choosing at the barrier in attempt to destroy it."

 

The air guardian nocks a light arrow and aims it at Chroma.

"Again, I wouldn't advise it." The air guardian says, glaring at Chroma.

 

"You refused to trust me, I will not trust you." He says, not even bothering to turn back.

 

As soon as Chroma gets close to Abigail's house, the air guardian fires a precisely-aimed light arrow at him.

 

Faster than the blink of an eye, his tail twitches so the arrow hits a prism. The resulting six colored arrows heavily damage the guardian's bow as they turn back towards their sender, though all of them seem to intentionally miss the guardian themself.

He continues closer to Abigail's volcano, wary.

 

The air guardian lets out a loud, clear whistle once Chroma retaliates. Chroma finds himself grabbed by a strong telekinetic force again as a large stone fist forms behind him. The fist suddenly flies toward Chroma, trying to punch him into the side of the volcano.

 

His eyes flare up.
"Hahahah... A feisty bunch!" He laughs.

Brown crystals emerge from between his scales as the telekinesis seems to be unable to affect him. As he turns, the stone fist hits him square in the face - the glow from his eyes are visible constantly through the dust. He took the hit for show and didn't even blink.

"Let me know when it's my turn." He smirks.

 

The large fist seems to have been a distraction, the ground beneath Chroma's feet falling away before a blast of magma launches out from the side of the volcano; trying to throw Chroma away.

 

Chroma's claws turn white and his belly glazes over with red crystals.

He waits within the lava plume; once it ends, he sends a chaotic spray of pumice towards the guardians before filling the surrounding area with heavy ash and dust as he rushes towards Abigail's volcano.

 

The pumice is stopped midair, and the ash and dust is quickly blown away by the air guardian. A pair of autumn-haired forest guardians appear at the top of Abigail's volcano, sending out a wave of thorns and growing trees in the way to stall Chroma.

 

Chroma's eyes turn green, the thorns turning against the forest guardians as the trees turn to splinters.

His tail reflects the light of the sun towards the air guardian's eyes, attempting to flash blind them.
