Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“I might ask him about it, pretty sure Xlentia isn’t fond of recordings... at least those of herself.”

 

Katie nods.

"Like a squid!" Katie says, smiling.


I appear to be training against several seemingly living training dummies at once. However, once Arie gets closer, they can see the multiple dummies are actually just afterimages of one dummy moving incredibly fast.

 

"Anne?"

 

“Why not?”

 

“A... what?”


Arie’s unable to see the afterimages, seeming a bit confused as she waits for nothing in particular.

The fox barks again, heading towards the swamp and looking at you.

“I’m not her, I dunno.”

 

“Okey.”

 

"A squid! You know, the long fish with the tentacles!" Katie says happily.


I seem to notice Arie, though don't break my training.

 

“I haven’t spent much time in water...” Ihra admits.


She seems more interested in what you’re doing with the training dummy than you, though her wandering eye contact seems to suggest she’s not the quickest witted of creatures.

“I just know a lot of people don’t like being spied on.”

 

“Voidfiller, are you listening?”
Crystal says to the sky.
...There’s no response.

 

"Guess not?"
I'll stand up and follow it.

 

"I can show you some squid when we get out of here." Katie suggests.


I appear to be attempting to stab the dummy, though missing 75% of the time due to it's rapid evasive manuevers.

 

"There's more stuff in the ocean, isn't there? You may as well show me a bunch of stuff once we get there."


Arie glances back at the bearded shadow, seeming confused.

It leads you to Anne who's sitting on a rock, half-asleep.
"Oh... good. You're... not the only one who'd rather be asleep. Anyhow... there's good news and bad news about the naga. Which do you want first?"

Shack glances over.
"Who...?"

 

Katie nods, seeming happy to.


The bearded Shadow walks over, waving a hand. The dummy stops moving instantly, shaking a little at the sudden stop. I sheathe Shadow Katana and glance at him.

"You have a visitor, young Aj." The bearded Shadow says.

I look at Arie.

 

"The bad one first, please."

 

“Nobody.”
Crystal quickly says.

 

“Do you have a favorite sea creature?”


Arie looks back at you, seeming unsure of what to do. She breaks eye contact for looking at her exoskeleton for a moment before looking back at you.
“Hhhhhh... iii?”

Shack seems a bit suspicious of Crystal, but lets the matter drop anyways.

“Bad news, if we want to talk to them then we need to go back to the swamp right now.”

 

"And the good news?"

 

"Hmm...I like them all! Though I think octopi are pretty cool." Katie says cheerily.


"Hey." I say casually, offering a gentle smile.

 

“They have exactly what we’re looking for.”

“Are there as many things in the water as on land?”


“Ehmmm... iee ssss...aid ffffff-iiiinnne hhhew.”

 

"Awesome. Let's go then."
