Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra finds Katie making sandcastles on the beach, creating fortifications for the incoming tide as well as using it to make a moat.

 

"Both are great."

 

The cat's purring sounds like a quiet snarl, though it seems content.

"Katie!" Ihra calls, waving.

"Cities are too busy for me. Too many people."

 

"You're ruling a kingdom. Can't be busier than that."

 

Crystal scarcely looks back to where he’s walking.

 

Katie accidentally knocks down a wall as she jumps when her name is called. The ocean water, seeing it's opportunity in the sandcastles weakened defence, rushes in and overflows the moat; taking out some of the castle with it. Katie frantically switches between fixing her damaged castle and Ihra, before getting up and running over to Ihra.

 

“I’m loosely ruling a kingdom. Sometimes I just leave for a month.”

Ihra throws up a barrier around Katie’s work to help preserve it a bit before she walks towards Katie.

The path is moonlit poorly, only a sliver visible. You can’t see too far ahead either.

 

Katie runs into Ihra with a hug, seeming a little overjoyed to see her again.

 

Ihra hugs her back, smiling.
“Good to see you again!”

 

"Yeah! You disappeared one day and I couldn't find you, but now you're here!" Katie says excitedly.

 

"I've been making a bit of a mess... well, Iris has been making a lot of a mess, and I'm apparently really bad at dealing with her. That's not really why I'm here, though... Rineth told me you had a package you were delivering to someone in the Void. I thought maybe I could help you with it?"

 

"Oh...yeah..." Katie says, looking rather guilty.

 

Short pause.

"So how much further?"

 

"Did you lose it?" Ihra asks, a bit confused.

"Here's fine. Let me go check if there are unattended dens... at least, any big enough for you." Anne says, jumping off your shoulder and disappearing into the trees.

 

"Oh yeah. Her town was like.. really small, wasn't it?"

 

She's a fox. She fits on our shoulder. We probably don't fit.

 

Crystal makes sure he's close to Linoa before continuing to put his attention on the cat.

 

"Kind of cute how small they are."

 

I mean, you can make dirt warm. Air doesn't stay warm.

Linoa seems a bit confused before offering Crystal another telepathic link.
"You have poor night vision?"

 

"What? Where did you try and go with that?"
