Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The fake bug backs up and the runs into a charge at the actual bug.

 

Anne nods, hopping off and leaving a small bag behind.

"I'm fine with heading to a drier place."

Ihra sits up, looking at the vines before looking back towards Mortius.
"Sorry for giving you a hard time earlier."

The bug tries to fling the fake bug off Crystal's head, albeit with an amount of force that may make Crystal want to shift to avoid that.

 

The vines don't seem too tight around Ihra's arms, feeling like sleeves of a shirt.

Mortius just nods, understanding.

 

"Same here. My feet are getting sticky from the mud."

 

The fake bug shifts back down into Crystal.

 

The bug winds up flinging itself off Crystal with the force it tried to use.

"There's a well you can wash that off at home, and I think I can clear a den out for you if you want."

"Is Artemis going to be allowed back soon?" Ihra asks.

 

"Most likely," Mortius says, "Grace hesitated to take her back because of you, after all."

 

"A lot of people got hurt because of me..." Ihra sighs. "I just don't know how to make it up to them in a timely manner."

 

"I trust you'll make things right." Mortius says offhandedly.

 

“I’ll try, but I can’t just leave the war back at home for it... as much as I’d love to be done with that mess.”

 

"Aren't your friends the key to stopping it?" Mortius asks.

 

"They're all busy, I can't just tear them from what they're doing."

 

"True, but you can motivate." Mortius suggests.

 

"Some of them. Even then, they're right to be concerned about the next steps needed. Fighting Atavul in his home turf? His soldiers go through hellish trials every day, sure we can fight normal armies but we'd be hard pressed to hold our own against even numbers. Plus, there's no way Lady Praecantatia would let Stephanie get close to O'rogal as long as he's still mind controlled... which is a problem, because not having her makes convincing everyone else a lot more difficult. Well... not having any one person in the group makes convincing everyone really difficult."

 

"Theodore has a lot of hope for you. I wouldn't go giving up and letting him down." Mortius says.

 

"Theo - wait... right, you still have a god of time over here..." Ihra says, thinking. "No... I've asked too much out of you all already. Why can't I get a breather long enough to repay a bit..."

 

"He is capable of giving you time, as he has for us when we have stepped into your reality." Mortius suggests.

 

"I don't think going into debt to pay off other debts is how it's supposed to work, but I might need to ask him for favors anyways..."

 

"Consider it like being able to be in two places at once." Mortius says.

 

"Sure. Though I don't mind an inn."
