Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Ihra, give it up... things’ll be better with a little bit of time...” Iris grunts.

Ihra hesitates before her will seems to resist the grasp a bit.
“N-no... I deserve whatever comes... but not from you. Time can’t heal a wound that deep... only I can.”

 

"True. Let's sit in a tree for now."

I'll climb a nearby tree. One that is of decent size.

 

You find one with a sizable branch making a decent seat, with a few smaller branches to (loosely) help you not fall off.

 

"Okay. Now we play the waiting game?"

 

"You dare resist me!?" The man says, raising the skeletal hand up and getting in Ihra's face.

 

The man's grasp gets weaker and weaker.
"If it means doing the right thing... making up for my mistakes..." She grunts, wings starting to glow. "...I'd resist anyone."

 

The man drops Ihra, seeming to be immediately calm.

"Very well. However, I will be following you." The man says, narrowing his eyes at Ihra; no longer putting on a false show of emotion.

 

Ihra stumbles when dropped, seeming surprised to be released.
"I expected as much."
"Go hug it out." Iris chuckles, vanishing.
Ihra seems cross at her comment, but just looks towards the man.
"I presume you won't be helping me figure out how to actually find Lady Gaia?"

 

"I will lose all hope for the safety of your reality if you cannot find Gra-" The man catches himself, pausing for a moment, "Lady Gaia."

 

"Grace..." Ihra giggles. "I knew I was forgetting one of them. Mortimer, Celeste, Phoebe, Grace." She mumbles.
Ihra heads towards the statues of Gaia, trying to sense her whereabouts.
"...Wait, there's a god of time here, too..."

 

"Mortimer?" The man asks, confused.

Ihra can feel a strong concentration of life magic coming from behind the five statues, the easiest path being the scythe-carved one.

 

"I can't remember, there's too many things going on nowadays." She shrugs, heading towards whichever direction winds up leading to the strongest sign of Gaia.

 

The man sighs, following behind Ihra on a cut path that already seems to be regrowing. Up ahead, Ihra can see the end of the path close up; the plantlife taking over.

 

“Oh wait, I think I heard Mortius called Mortimer once.” Ihra says, her presence accelerating the growth of life before she tries weaving in and out of the trees to continue on.

 

"That's a new one..." The man mutters.

Ihra manages to wave through the trees for a bit, before they become so thick they're impassable. The man following Ihra simply cuts a giant path with his equally large scythe, cleaving through the trees cleanly and easily.

 

Ihra sighs, opting to just take the cut path as long as it continues leading towards the strong source of life.

 

Unfortunately, the originally cut path seems to have healed. The man doesn't seem too keen to lend Ihra his scythe, either.

 

“Why do you look like a not dead Mortius?” Ihra asks, testing if she can phase through the trees or plane-hop past them.

 

"You have already answered your question." Mortius says, sounding a little exhausted with Ihra.

The trees seem to be just regular trees, and Ihra is free to phase through them.

 

“How does that even work?” She asks, continuing on.
