"Bring her through." Praecantatia responds, though her voice coming from another room rather than telepathically.

 

Ihra tries to follow Praecantatia’s voice.

 

Ihra finds Praecantatia working on a gauntlet in her workshop, molding some metal midair. A small bed appears next to Ihra, presumably for Artemis.

 

Ihra lays Artemis down carefully onto the bed.
“Well... we were going to ask you if you had a way to help us talk to Lux, but... she started going into her death guardian form. When she tried to go back to normal, she up and passed out.”

 

Praecantatia puts down the metal and gets up, turning around and taking a look at Artemis. She puts her metal goggles over her eyes and looks Artemis over.

"Her emotions are affecting her powers. She'll be fine, she just needs some time to control her powers." Praecantatia says after a couple of minutes, putting her goggles back on her head.

 

Ihra lets out a sigh of relief, relaxing.

Pause.
“You know, I... I know it doesn’t mean much, but I’m sorry for blowing up at you and your friends. I understand where you were coming from not telling us, but... some things don’t add up and I can’t figure out what exactly made me tick that badly.”

 

Praecantatia nods, understanding.

 

“Is it okay if I ask you some of the things that don’t make sense?”

 

“Oh...”
Crystal looks to the ground.

 

Praecantatia sits down again, putting her hands in her lap and smiling.

 

He notices a well-trodden path below him.

"I guess the first thing that doesn't add up for me is; if you didn't tell us that it was staged to make us fight harder, why did we get a second life of sorts?"

 

"If you failed, and Lux killed you, we couldn't afford the risk of not being able to revive you. You're not from our reality, we don't know what would happen if you died." Praecantatia explains.

 

"But I thought you said he was holding back and that we weren't in any real danger?"

 

"Well.. princess. So you can guess."

 

I thought she was queen because she sort of... you know... Overthrew her parents?

 

He looks back to Linoa.
“Well? Where are we going now?”

 

"Yes. Still doesn't change the fact that she is a princess.. or queen now. Still royalty."

 

Praecantatia waves her hand in a "so-so" motion.

"He could've still killed you." Praecantatia says.

 

Ihra thinks for a bit.
"If I were to die, I'm erased. No getting around it, at least so I thought. I don't know how you got around Miznyana's curse with the clone, but I guess it worked. Though... why did you all threaten me? I know I'm not able to take on any one of you, nonetheless all of you at once. What was with the attempted torture and trying to emphasize that I'm a twig compared to you and your friends?"

Glad she doesn't act like it. I hate formalities, they take too long.

"We were going to follow Shack to the trade meeting thing, I thought."

 

"We were...concerned, after your outburst." Praecantatia explains.
