Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal leaves the terrain as rough to see what the bug does.

 

"Worth a shot." Ihra shrugs.

"Well, just let us know. It's strange to have an outsider be willing to help, though..."

It crawls around a bit to explore, not seeming particularly bothered.

 

"Just finding a way to pass some time."

 

“Most people here pass time in a bar or one lf the gambling houses. Not saying the latter’s particularly legal, but most guards are guilty of it too.”

 

"Well... I'm not from here. So I do things my own way."

 

Artemis slides down the vines of the wooden bridge she made over to the island, managing to keep her balance and jump off gracefully at the end. She glances back at Ihra, patient.

 

Crystal makes little caves for the bug.

 

It doesn’t enter them, shifting a bit to avoid being near them.

Ihra levitates over, quiet but clearly trying to think something through.

The guard laughs.
“Don’t go overboard with that. Everyone’s got rules for a reason.”

 

"I'm joking. I'm not here to cause trouble."

 

Artemis heads back to the main island, though some of the ground seems to wither away a bit under her feet.

 

Crystal shifts away the caves, instead opting to raise the bug up by shifting upwards below the bug.

 

Ihra seems concerned, but keeps quiet as she follows.

The bug again freezes up before crawling down once Crystal stops shifting.

“Still not a bad mindset to keep. Just gotta be careful with it.”

 

"Thanks. But I'll be leaving now."

 

Artemis continues past a few golems as she walks, though doesn't seem to pay them even a glance. She almost seems lost in her mind as a few golems try to fix the withered footprints Artemis leaves.

 

“Artemis, what’s... going on inside?”

“I know you don’t want people knowing, but try not to get hurt before your big day, alright?”

 

"What do you mean?" Artemis asks, not turning around.

 

"Look." Ihra urges, trying to get her to turn around anyways.

 

Artemis turns around.

 

Eyes go wide.
"God.. you guys also know? Who told you?"

 

Crystal just keeping looking at the bug and moving along.
