Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Promise.” Anne nods.

Waving your hand underneath it does nothing.

Buddy walks over, having finished his food.

“When you finish training, there was something Ruby wanted to give you as a... parting gift. It’s back at the Void Palace, though.”

 

"She's...dead?" Artemis asks, surprised.

 

"Computer, sink on."
I half-joke to myself as I physically check the faucet by touching it.

 

"Then we should contact your servants so that they can get started on making a tent."

 

Ihra nods.
"She left a few gifts for you and her other friends, something about orichalcum-edged weapons. Apparently she left someone on earth the most powerful weapon she's ever made, but she didn't tell me a whole lot before she passed."

"Already on it, don't you worry. Telepathy is beautiful because I can yell at people I can't see." She snickers.

Touching the spout winds up turning it on.

 

"You keep surprising me. What else can you do?"

 

"I can create illusions, swim in magma, and sometimes use weak telekinesis."

 

"How old was she?" Artemis asks, feeling a bit mournful.

 

"Oh, uh... I dunno the exact numbers, but she was one of the draconic preservers. I don't know how old Earth is, but her age was probably comparable."

 

"Well...at least she didn't die young." Artemis says, trying to smile a bit.

 

“True. That reminds me, do you know when Alice passed? I wasn’t around for it and I haven’t found records of it in the library.”

 

Artemis shakes her head.

"I didn't know she'd died either...though I don't mind that as much." Artemis says.

 

“I’ll ask Aj when I find him. Sorry for taking you aside, there, though hopefully we can see each other again under less stressful circumstances.”

 

"I'll be glad once we've sorted things out with the hive master. Maybe then we can do some better things together rather than fight." Artemis says positively.

 

“I meant, you know, at least after this Lux issue. I’d try to take him on on my own, but... I’m a light magic user and he should be able to turn that against me.”

 

"You wouldn't be able to take him out on your own," Artemis says, sighing and shaking her head, "Gaia said that two or three of our gods would need to be involved to stop him if Lux was at full power."

 

“Which is why I’m hoping to find Aj before he gets back to full power.” Ihra says. “Plus, I saw someone die who might be a big help in a fight, if I decide that summoning is needed.”

 

"Whom?" Artemis asks, curious.

 

Ihra smiles.
“I’ll keep it a surprise for now.”

 

Artemis seems to narrow her eyes, before shrugging it off.

"Alright. Good luck finding Aj, try not to spook him." Artemis says, before turning to head back to the forest guardians; waiting patiently for her.
