Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Iris changes her angle, trying to see if there’s a difference in flow from the cracked area.

 

The cracked area seems to be able to hold less magic, which follows a path into the middle of the crystal. Otherwise, the flow is mostly the same.

 

Iris’ eyes return to their normal state.
“So, what’s in the middle of the crystal?” She asks, landing on the platform.

 

"There's something in the middle?" The other guardian asks, confused.

"There shouldn't be anything in there, other than more crystal." The first guardian says.

 

"Empty?"

I'll calmly walk inside. Looking around for people.

 

“The mana is flowing towards the middle, and the cracked part just seems to have a lower flowrate.”
Pause.
“Wait, is the crystal safe to touch?”

 

The air guardians nod.

 

No response, other than from Anne.
“Usually there’s at least a priest or cleric around...”

Iris gently runs the back of her non-seeded hand along the crack, trying to feel for a hole.

 

There's a small hole in the very middle of the crack, leading all the way into the crystal. Iris feels a little lighter as the touches the crystal, some of the magic effecting her.

 

“Ah...”
Iris tries to use small vine sinews to reach into the hole.

 

They seem to be a little harder to make, the seed absorbing some of Iris' power, though she manages to get them through the hole.

 

"Yeah, someone who keeps the church in check or something. Not even someone on the benches."

 

She keeps reaching into the hole, trying to figure out how deep it goes and if there’s anything to pick out.
“I think someone shot some mana vaccuum into this thing.” Iris comments as she glares at the seed.

 

Iris feels something grab at the vines, pulling her toward the crystal.

 

“Well, they don’t usually wait on the benchs. There should be offices off to the sides.” Anne says, hopping off your shoulder and trotting to the end of the bench rows.

Iris tries to latch on to whatever’s pulling at her.
“One of you tell your boss that there’s more than just crystal in there right now.” She says, annoyed.

 

The first air guardian flies off, the second keeping watch.

Iris manages to latch on to it, and the pulling becomes stronger.

 

"Those centaurs where here a few seconds ago, so they must have talked to someone, right?"

 

Iris tries to loosen it slightly, her blood held in her staff flowing back into her as she attempts to remove the object.

“Probably. I dunno if any of them worked here or not.” Anne says, heading towards the front of the room as she circles the benches.

 

The hole is far too small to pull the object through, and the more she tries to pull at it, the more it resists.

 

She tries to feel out the shape of it, hoping to figure out what’s in the crystal.
