Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Sure. Where are you from?"

 

"Same lab you got worked on."

 

Abigail glances up, preparing a fireball.

 

"What even happened?"

 

"W-we don't have to do this... please..." The fae says nervously, peeking at Abigail.

"I got jumped in an alley, and everything around me became ashes. There were no remains of my attackers, so everyone assumed I just burned crap down to watch the flames."

 

Abigail glares back at the faerie, eyes looking a little glazed over.

"Just who exactly do you think you are?" Abigail asks, voice sharp as a knife, "You think you can come to my house, hurt my friends and then try to attack me? You are unwelcome here, and if you attack me, I will strike back."

"Though, I'm open to negotiation. We don't need to fight," Abigail says, putting on a strangely scary smile, "So, are you going to attack me, or are you going to come quietly? I doubt a thing as puny as you can fight much, though."

The faerie notices that the volcano's magma seems to have risen a bit.

 

"I-I just want my backpack and I'll be on my way, promise..." They say, ducking back behind the rocks.


Chroma sneaks a portal into Abigail's kitchen, checking the sink with no regard to being seen.

 

"Oh no no, we can't have that. You're not going anywhere, you're staying right here." Abigail says, cracking her knuckles and kicking away the rock pile. Her eyes can't seem to stay focused, and her posture seems a little slumped.


There's nothing in the sink, but there's an odd sound coming from the tap.

 

As Abigail kicks away the rock pile, the cloud dissipates and she's struck with a massive bolt of lightning, a hound-like creature letting off a loud thunder-like growl as it stands between Abigail and the fae.


Chroma's eyes flash green as he tries to find the phoenix's soul, moving a bit further through the portal if necessary to look in more rooms.

 

Abigail stands for a moment, paralyzed, before falling backwards and toppling into her volcano with a splash. As she falls, a look of fear and sadness seems to be on her face.


Before he has the chance to, the sink explodes, covering him in water before it freezes him in place. The ice seems to compact, trying to crush him into a pulp.

 

The hound rushes behind her and tries to jolt her back towards land, the fae having fainted.


After he's covered in water, blue crystals erupt from his scales and shatter the ice as he forms a ball of electricity in one claw.
"Katie, Katie, Katie..." Chroma mutters.

 

Abigail seems to have fainted too, though she's not heavy; easily jolted back.


Katie giggles from another room, just out of sight.

 

The beast carries Abigail over towards the fae, sitting next to both as it keeps vigilant watch.


"I suppose there's no point in hiding it now, is there? You know why I'm here, don't you..." Chroma sighs. "But... you don't know where the child is, I take it."
Pause.
"...On the flipside, tell Abigail that the gold on the counter is for replacing that." He mutters, placing a coin next to the gap where Abigail's sink used to be.

 

There seems to be a bit of commotion from Abigail's house, though the magma level lowers.


Chroma suddenly feels something stab into his back with a force enough to knock him down if it doesn't piece through.

 

The hound glances over, but opts to watch over Abigail and the fae instead.


It bounces instead of pierces, though he recovers with half of the crystal spines turning brown as he catches his fall with the ground, crushing the ball of electricity with his claw and sending out a radial shock.

 

The electricity seems to be drawn to something, before a blast of electrified water surrounds Chroma.

 

He seems unfazed, some of the blue crystals turning yellow.
"Alright, alright. I get it, you're no pushover. Though... I'm afraid it's in your best interests to let me go for the time being. You've already torn up your friend's sink and fried the electronics in the kitchen, I think that's quite enough." He sighs. "Or, let me rephrase - your friend is unconscious outside; and while I could have snagged her instead of tell you that, it seems like it'd be a bit of a damper on the holiday season... So why don't you go make sure she's okay while I accept the fact that you've hid the child somewhere I can't get to?"

 

"You should leave, and never come back, lest you wish to face the wrath of the seven seas," Katie's voice echoes seriously as a giant version of her rises in water form, "I banish you from our reality."

A ton of water surrounds Chroma, his only escape from it his portal. The water tries to crush him, only leaving him room for the portal.

 

He starts backing up through the portal, chuckling.
"Who do you think you are, Gaia?"

As his crystals return to blue, Katie needs exponentially more strength to keep pushing him back with comparable strength.

 

Katie seems to be able to handle it, doubling the force even.

"I am the child of Gaia, and I know now that she is smiling upon me. Can you say the same for your god?" Katie asks, before forcing Chroma through the portal.
