Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"W-When d-do y-you?" Katie asks, barely able to look at Xlentia from her fear.

 

I let it take the lead, seeing where it wants to go.

 

Xlentia smiles.
“It takes years, you poor girl. Besides, I can complain with having visitors, I almost never get them.”

It leads you to a dog park with three dogs playing within, two humans and a draconian conversing on a bench under a tree.

 

I guide my dog inside, eventually taking off his leash to let him run around with the other dogs.

 

He takes off at a full sprint, the three on the bench looking at you.

 

I wave and approach them.
"Hello."

 

"I've never seen it."

Okay, but I don't think other will like it if someone gets attacked during the wedding.

 

"B-But w-what if E-Emerald doesn't come b-back?" Katie asks, petrified, a few tears falling down her face.

 

Xlentia keeps quiet before looking out of the door.
"...I don't think she's ever left the archives."

"It might be worth showing you, there's many more worlds on the other side."

Fine, we'll find an empty room to keep them in and do it after.

"You the other thirteen?" The draconian asks as the humans simultaneously nod at your approach.

 

I greet the three with a smile.
"That'd be me. And you are?"

 

"If I can find the time, that is."

Right...

 

"You have a lifetime ahead of you, I wouldn't worry about time being the issue."
"Stay strong, son. No matter if you stay or choose to explore, know that I'll still do what I can to protect you."

Then again, we're having the wedding next to a bluff. We could just throw them off.

"Celfer."
"Noyt." They say simultaneously.
"Serra." The draconian adds.

 

"S-So she's still h-h-here?" Katie asks, calming down slightly.

 

“Emerald is a bit of a liar, and she’ll chew me out for selling out her secret. Perhaps you remember the soulcore crystals the Hive Master uses to quickly revive his fallen soldiers? Emerald has made herself one, easily able to create herself a new body should her current one be destroyed. That also means she can be killed easily and indirectly, but she hides it somewhere not even I know.”

 

"W-Where's the r-real Emerald t-then?" Katie asks, calming down a little more.

Katie forms an icy spike beside her, detaching a glass of cold water from it to drink and calm herself down with.

 

"Protect me? How do you do that?"

 

"Well, it's nice to meet you."
I relax, looking for my dog to check on how they're doing.

 

"I don't know. She sort of just does whatever she feels like doing."

"You're able to see me - the spectral plane and the physical plane are close." Linda says.
"Some assassins can move into the spectral plane and separate their target's soul from their body, killing them whilst being nearly impossible to detect from physical reality."

"You too." Celfer and Noyt say simultaneously.
"Nice to see another dog lover on board." Serra says. "Any particular reason you went with a retriever?"

 

"S-So, you're not going to g-go crazy without her?" Katie asks, drinking some water.

 

"I mean, I dunno. It's been a while since things got that bad." Xlentia shrugs.
