Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

She keeps moving, preferably away from crowds.


“As long as you’re aware you have that much. Momma sometimes gets upset when people hoard her tears and don’t share it, though.”

Stella nods, before the projector turns off.

“It’s not bad for your first time.”

 

It's hard to move and keep away from crowds due to how packed the beach is. A group of children run past Fenira - almost into her - not looking where they're going.


"I'll keep that in mind." Praecantatia says positively.

 

I take a load off, laying on the ground again and relaxing.

 

Fenira keeps on moving, having moderate regrets as she tries to find a less scorching location.


Praecantatia feels the absence of a link fill afterwards.

The endless black above seems to be little more that, if not peaceful.

 

I stare off into it until the process is finished.

 

"Good enough."

I smile.

 

A few lighter-haired water guardians appear to have frozen some of the sand in an area, not enjoying the heat too much, but liking the easy access to water too much to leave.


Praecantatia simply ignores it, simply glancing back over Shadow Stephanie.

Shadow Stephanie lies almost completely immobile on an operating table, barely twitching, her eyes shut. Various vein-like pipes seem to transfuse blood, black blood filling the place of a purplish-red one. Blessed charms surround the room, plant life sprouting around them as an evil aura claws through a thick storage area for the extracted blood.

Shadow Stephanie suddenly jerks upright, spikes erupting out of her back, fangs growing so long as to bite through her jaw and claws gripping the table. She heaves a bit, as if gasping for air, before the spines, fangs and claws retract, laying back down again. Praecantatia begins drawing runes as a heavy banging starts to erupt on the door to her room.

 

Fenira approaches them.
“Excuse me, do you know where Lady Gaia is?”


“Let me play with it.” Petunia’s voice echoes.

The octagon slowly resembles a circle, and by the time you finish the metal has mostly cooled.
“Well, is that all you wanted to do?”

You wind up having hours pass, staring into nothing.

Finally, your vision fades to grey as you find yourself in a larger capsule. You can’t move yet, but you can see a vague progress bar on the inside of the capsule:
“Status: 87%
Current Task: Reinstating Code
Next Task: Flexion Test”

 

The guardians talk among themselves for a bit, before shrugging. One points toward the water.


Petunia feels a strange static sensation in return, her vision going white and a migraine forming in her head. She can taste blood and her throat hurts.

"How interesting..." A demonic voice echoes in return.

 

"Yeah. It's fun. Can I pick it up or..?"

 

I try flexing a few muscles, just to get used to it again.

 

Fenira sighs.
“Thanks.”


“Dad never let me play with demons. Are you fun to play with?”

“Not yet. It’ll be cooled off in a few more minutes.”

You aren’t able to move on your own, but your arm seems to be able to bend much more than it used to.

 

I take a look at the progress bar, seeing how often it changes.

 

"Alright. Is there anything you would change about my 'design'?"

 

Once every few seconds. Once it hits 93%, you see someone manually inputting the progress changes you see as the capsule defogs slightly.

“I mean, if you were trying to make a smiling face, you did it. Seems fine to me.”

 

"You're pretty experienced. If I asked you to make something right now, what would you make?"

 

I try looking at the person to see if I recognize them.

 

The guardians go back to their conversation, not paying attention to Fenira. It's nice to be in the cold, however.


"Yes, let's have lots of fun together." The demonic voice says evilly.

 

Fenira opts to trudge on.


Petunia grins.
“What game should we start with? Hide and seek, or”
Petunia’s voice turns into painful static for a short time.
“You can choose.”

They seem to be some sort of robotic bug, working two keyboards at once with two sets of ‘hands.’

“Depends. I think the next set of charms to sell are for water breathing, so I’d probably use a fish or bubble shape.”

 

"Ah. I can probably make a fish or a bubble."
