Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“...And this is assuming someone doesn’t realize I may not be magic based?”

 

“Come back here, I have a piece of scrap you can try to work first.”

“You’ll look the same, and still have a few of your old magical components. They’ll just be vestigial.”

 

"Sure."

I'll walk up to him, holding a hammer and a chisel in both hands.

 

“Well, if you think it’ll be fine... I mean, you’ve probably thought of all the variables.”

 

The fire guardian just falls backward in shock, hands igniting as a reaction.

 

“You have a two percent chance of getting caught if you reveal your extra weaponry early.”

He places a red hot tile on a stone slab.
“You have about two minutes before I need to throw it back in the fire.”

He doesn’t seem to have noticed time passing.
“Hey, you’re fine. It’s okay.”

 

"I hammer this thing?"

 

"W-What did you do to me!?" The fire guardian asks, confused, scared and angry all at the same time.

 

“Rest the chisel on the tile, then tap it with the hammer.”

“Let me introduce myself before you strike. I am Fenira, stonegazer hydra. Left to die in an environment more harsh than the realm of shadows, yet here I am. Petrification does not cause harm, despite popular belief.”

 

The fire guardian just gets up and runs away, their water guardian friend close behind them.

 

"Okay. I'll just start with something simple."

I'll try to chisel a smiley into the tile.
Two eyes and a happy mouth.

 

“I’ll try not to let my hubris get the best of me.”
I joke.

 

The smile looks a bit odd, but making a smiley face is easy enough.
"Last time I offered someone else to try this, they burnt themselves on the tile, so good job on not doing that." Epsi says, half-jokingly.

"You don't appear to have been programmed with hubris. From what I can tell, you seem to only be capable of basic emotions and very few complex ones."
She doesn't seem to have understood the joke, but once she smirks you can tell she's messing with you.

Fenira looks around for any indication on how to get to Gaia's water-focused garden.

 

There doesn't appear to be anything immediately obvious, though following a nearby river may yield something.

 

Fenira opts to do exactly that, walking with the flow as she keeps her gaze lowered.

 

A few fish swim by Fenira, and the river eventually leads into a large lake; water guardians enjoying themselves. Fenira can hear beautiful singing coming from nearby.

 

Fenira turns towards the guardians.
"Excuse me?"

 

A guardian notices, swimming over to Fenira.

"Yes?" The guardian asks, smiling positively.

 

I chuckle.
“Alright. Now that’s just rude.”
I say, partially sarcastic.

 

"Do you know the way to the water garden? I'm new here, don't know my way around." She says, looking towards the guardian but not at them.

"You can never be sure of your estimations until you run experiments. I will be blunt, though, your code isn't the best... in fact, I'd say it's next to impossible to read if you weren't the one developing it. Regardless, you seem to have adapted well with what you have."
