Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Vei uncloaks next to Ihra. She's the slightest bit out of breath and looks a bit beat up.
"I'll make sure they get answered. Eras, was it? I also have one of my own."
The healer swallows hard at the sight of Vei's armaments.
"I... F-forgive me, but Eras, could you... uh... go first?"

"Are there any other dragons in this world? You know, who might know what to do with it?"

 

"Well, I think there are..." The dragon plays around with the iceberg, then eats a small bit of it. "Altough I am not sure where to find them. I could check in my library-there must be something on dragons in there."

 

I say to Vei, "Yes, I am Eras."
I say to the healer, "What questions do you have?"

 

"I'll stay here. It reminds me of my creation."
She looks at it, sitting down near it.

"I... uh..."
She's breaking under pressure.
"Don't worry, I don't intend to harm you." Vei tries to calm her down.

 

"The draconians here may be powerful and sometimes dangerous, but as Vei said, she wouldn't hurt you unless you did something against her. But what you did was the opposite, so she wouldn't hurt you."

 

"Ok then, I will return if I find anything." I go out through a doorway.

 

"My daughter and I are in your debt, though we can do little else to change your mind."

"I... It's not you I fear..."
"That mark... You..."
She bows to the healer, then kneels.
"She would be proud." She whispers.

"Do these things require constant attention?" She shouts at you.

 

"What mark?"

 

"Guard her well. Don't let Nyre get to her."

Ihra stares into her staff's crystal.
"Mother, there's a signature pretty far north from here. How can I tell who it is?"
"You're still young, hon. The warning is excellent, though. Theoretically even odds, unless it's Lefalya."
"Why can't we go fight somewhere else? Why this world?"
"I... I don't know why. Just... I'll get you somewhere to stay."
"Just... I want to stop running."
"Soon. This time, I promise."

Vei forces another telepathic link. You're getting used to this.
"That's actually my question to you... Do you know anywhere I can create a more permanent home for my daughter? She's too young for what she's seen, I want to give her a refuge from our war."

 

OOC: So it will be a year and 8 months until Ihra is safe? (They said soon for Gavel, and Gavel took that long)
"From what I've seen, it might be hard to. There are a few places that I know of which are related to the Darklands. There is the Kingdom of the Lost. Nobody goes there, but then again if someone found her she might be in trouble. There are the swamps to the east... but there are a few fiery creatures there. To the north are some dark mazes in the mountains and only I would be able to get her out of there, as nobody else knows a way through. The final place is my Void Palace. It is place located somewhere in the Void, as the name suggests. There are two portals into the area around it: one in the mazes in the northern mountains and one in a dungeon deep below Fellak, the capital city. Between the palace and the portals to it are some very powerful monsters. Then the palace itself holds a cult made up of the only people so faithful in me and determined to be under my full enlightenment that they have managed to get to the palace itself. Out of those places, the Void Palace would likely be the hardest one for them to reach."

 

OOC: Depends on your definition of safe and your perspective of time. (This is a hint. Take the hint)

"All due respect, she wouldn't do too well in extreme darkness. There's also going to be plants. Everywhere. It creeps me out, even... I suppose we all have our own abilities, though."

 

OOC: Does Vei mean Ihra wouldn't like plants everywhere or that there would have to be plants everywhere?

 

OOC: There will be plants everywhere wherever Ihra stays. She will overgrow the place over time.

 

Finding not much else to do than listen, I pull out my sword, and something that looks like a wet rag, and I start to clean my sword.

 

A chill runs down your spine.

Turning around, you see a line of frost slowly creeping across the ground behind you.

 

"I think it can handle itself for a while!" the doors shut close.

 

You notice lines of frost slowly creep down every path in sight.

You can hear her laughing behind the door.

 

I back up towards the group, clearly not paying attention to who's behind me.
I try to slam my sword on the frost, to sort-of try and make it retreat, but mostly to get attention.

 

The smallest draconian, you presume to be Ihra, looks at you, confused.
"Um... hi? Is something wrong?"

I look at the frost.
"Xephyr."

 

"I guess Xephyr is what's wrong."
I say, presumably stealing Vesius's words right out of the air.
