Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"No...Tiff-. Tenebrae told me a lot." Gaia says.

 

"Oh... I, uh..."
Pause.
"I've waited so long to finally ask this, and... and it's hard..." She mumbles before looking up towards Gaia but not at her face.
"I was forsaken for so long, cursed by my Gaia for my foolish actions. I want to atone, I want a second chance. I want to be able to heal again, be able to feel again, be something again. I don't know what I can do to redeem myself, but I vow I will find something and I promise that though I may have been a deceiver in the past, I will do my best to compensate for that troubled past."

"Well, unless you want to get your augments over with now, not much point explaining everything that goes on here."

 

"What do I need to do to help you, child?" Gaia asks.

 

“When will that be happening? The augmentation. And what do they intend to change?”

 

Fenira hesitates.
"Petrify me, crush me to dust, and leave me to reform in a place I can call home."

"You're pretty much going to be getting a new body, and it'll happen just about whenever you feel ready for it."

 

“I’m ready just about now.”

 

“Well, stay here and I’ll let the roboticists know.” He says, leaving before letting you respond.

 

"Petrification...I haven't done that in a while..." Gaia says, thinking.

 

I stick around, observing the scene as I wait.

 

Fenira keeps quiet, uneasy but hopeful.

The lab appears to be empty, though it’s possible there are fully sectioned off parts, seeing as you can still hear quiet conversations and machinery in operation.

 

"Alright, I think it can be done." Gaia says positively, changing to her Earth guardian form.

 

I relax in wait for roboticsists to arrive.

 

Fenira starts to look up, then stops.
"W-wait... can you do it without looking at me?"

Eventually, a kitsune in humanoid form and human enter the room.
"Hey, you said you're ready for the augments?" The human asks in a friendly tone.
The kitsune just cringes as they look you over.

 

I quickly look over the pair.
“Yeah. Lead the way.”
I say to the human.
“Or, the process. You get my point.”

 

"I'll do that later. Have to wait for Rema to finish anyways."

 

Gaia nods.

 

“Okay, good. I... I don’t want to petrify you too.”

“If you don’t mind me asking, what potion was she making? She never tells me what she’s up to.”

They wear matching labcoats and have what you guess to be wedding rings on opposite hands.

The kitsune starts tinkering with some of the machinery as the human opens a capsule door.
“We’ll start by extracting your code, then making backups before we work on your actual body. At that point, you’ll be in Stella’s hands, so you shouldn’t feel like you’re stuck in nothingness for too long.”

 

“Good to know.”
I start taking of my torch necklace.
“I hear I’m going to be split into hundreds of parts. Where should I put my stuff?”

 

"Can't tell. I believe that someone put the wrong ingredients in, and now it's unknown what it does."

 

"I doubt that would be possible." Gaia says, smiling.
