Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

After a while, the forest guardians' magic seem to become directed at the ground around Fenira, the ground soaking up both the rain and magic to grow plants. A soothing moss begins to grow over Fenira.

 

Thirteen nods.
"You'll sort of be kept in cyberspace so we don't accidentally corrupt any parts of your code while we work, so... hopefully you don't mind talking with Stella. I mean, we could just leave you in the dark, but you won't be able to deactivate yourself and it'll be a boatload of waiting."

The moss doesn't do anything for her either.
"...I appreciate your efforts, truly, but it's not going to help. It's something only Gaia can break, if my memory still serves me."

 

"No, I'm good. Thanks for the offer."

 

The ground suddenly erupts in vines, all arching over Fenira and grabbing her, quickly completely covering her. The forest guardians seem surprised at first, but something stops them from trying to hinder the vines. Eventually, Fenira blacks out again.

One Fenira wakes up, she's somewhere completely different. A bright blue sky reaches overhead, fluffy white clouds floating across it. Birds fly into green trees, sprouting from thick green grass packed with flowers and insects. A cool wind contrasts the warmth of the sun, which seems to incite growth.

 

Fenira seems uneasy and concerned, locking her gaze to the ground as she trudges along.
"So close..." She mutters.

"I haven't visited any weapon shops, but I know there is an archery range in the cliffside town somewhere. You can probably find a good bow there."

 

Fenira ends up bumping into someone, who jumps a bit in surprise.

 

"I'm so sorry..." She says, looking at whoever's feet.

 

The person turns around, before quickly running away.

"Miss Gaia! Miss Gaia!" The person shouts, their tone seeming positive rather than afraid.

 

Fenira seems surprised, looking up, but avoiding eye contact with everything if at all possible.

 

A young forest guardian runs through the fields, a giant figure looming in the distance. Other guardians appear to be around, enjoying themselves and each other's company. Fenira can hear a stream nearby, it's location evidences by a splash as the forest guardian runs through it.

 

Fenira opts to follow the young guardian, though she keeps her gaze low.

 

The guardian is surprisingly fast, never seeming to tire as she runs toward the gigantic figure in the distance. However, Fenira doesn't seem to feel tired either; no matter how much she exerts herself.

 

“Patience is one of my virtues, though talking to Stella seems interesting.”
There’s a short pause.
“Say, is ‘Stella’ an acronym for something?”

 

"Nope, it was her name before she died."

Despite the rejuvenating effects, Fenira still looks utterly exhausted as she drags herself along.

 

“Alright, just checking.”

 

"Now that you bring it up, I'm surprised nobody's tried to make an acronym out of it."

 

Eventually, Fenira doesn't need to, as Gaia walks over. Despite her size, the ground barely shakes at all as she walks. She soon changes to a much smaller size to speak to Fenira.

"I see you're finally awake. I remember you from the void." Gaia says happily, beaming at Fenira.

 

“Well, it’s got to be something about respect for the dead, right? And respect for Stella in general.”

 

Fenira rests her one not-partially-severed head against Gaia's leg.
"I... guess I finally made it to your domain, then..." She sighs, relaxing. "I... I really hope you can forgive me, for what I did in the shadow realm... and everything, really. It's been so long since anyone showed me mercy, I just... I hope I didn't make you have a change of heart on my way here."

"No idea. Out of my paygrade, frankly." Thirteen shrugs.

 

“Hm.”
I nod thoughtfully.
