Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“No. I was just expecting more of a tour.”

 

“It wasn’t over, I just wanted to start you with that. You can also explore the ship without leavig your room, or other ships if they allowed it.”

 

"Somewhere."

 

“Good to know. I’ll ask about that later. For now, though, let’s continue.”

 

“Somewhere in the dream world, I take it.”

“Don’t ask me, ask your room.” He shrugs.

 

"You know about that place? But yes, there."

 

They just seem to be normal water guardians, though they don't seem to move from the bottom of the ocean much.


The crowd is shocked silent for a moment, before erupting with their cheering twofold.

"Well, our city is home to many." Leilia says, smiling.

 

“Yes, I’ve been there a few times.”

Gaia takes extreme care not to crush any or cause cave-ins above them as she idles.


Amethyst nods.
“Well, let me know if Lady Gaia ever sees it. I hope she doesn’t take it the wrong way. In the meantime, I haven’t slept in a few weeks, so I’m gonna go doze off for a few days.” She says, pulling on a thread that retracts into her claws as her dress turns back into a robe.

 

“Regardless of who or what I ask, I will end up asking.”

 

"Fair."
He glances down the other side of the hall.
"Well, I suppose showing you to one of the cafeterias is redundant."

 

The ocean floor seems rather stable, and the water guardians are wise enough to stay out of Gaia's possible path of destruction.


"Oh, is your bed comfortable enough? I can see to it you rest somewhere that is most comforting to you." Leilia says.

 

“I’m practical use, perhaps, but you’re the guide.”

 

Gaia simply stays still, letting the waves roll over her as she waits in the sun, occasionally looking around above and below the water albeit infrequently.


"I spent three centuries in the underworld before I came here, I assure you I'll be fine."

"Guiding you to places you have no need to know of seems unhelpful. I was going to suggest we next visit the lab you'd be augmented in."

 

Gaia can hear singing when she goes underwater, seeming to be coming from the water guardians. The sun seems to bake Gaia, it's rays beating down heavily.


"That sounds horrible! Come, I'll have a bed arranged for you." Leilia says, heading inside the palace.

 

“Then let’s go there.”

 

"It's weird, right?"

 

She seems content with the sun beating down on her, some greenery sprouting from cracks in her stone body.


"I'm glad you haven't seen my home, then." Amethyst mumbles as she follows Leilia.

"Strange, yes, but consistent. I haven't been there in a while, though."

He pushes off the wall and starts walking down the hall again, stopping a bit at the first intersection before taking a right.

 

A few fish seem attracted to Gaia's greenery, swimming near to it to investigate.


Leilia calls for a few guards, who are next to Amethyst in an instant. She explains her desire for Amethyst to have a comfortable bed, and the guards disappear in a flash.

Leilia smiles as she leads Amethyst through the palace.

 

I follow him, right on his tail.

 

It seems to be some sort of moss, radiating an invigorating aura but otherwise simply growing faster than normal plants.


"Is the new one just going to replace my old one?"

He stops near what seems to be an open tube.
"These are droptubes, all of them are paired. One goes up, one goes down. Consider this floor zero, lab's on second floor."
