"Plus, if you sent an ad into my home reality, you'd probably get hundreds of applicants. Just a thought." Ruby sighs, leaning some of her weight against Vexa.


"If people won't get scared off by a dragon, then I would appreciate it if you let me try to reach out to her there."

 

Vexa just shakes her head, but remains silent.


"Certainly! Just follow us!" The human says, turning and heading towards their camp. The forest guardian joins her, the pair staying together.

 

“No titles.”
I shake my head.

 

"I'm sorry to distract you from working the orichalcum. I wanted my last days to be like every other, but... I didn't expect the thought to, you know, weigh me down." Ruby sighs.


Iris follows silently, a bit surprised neither commented on her staff.

"I presume that means you either broke out or were broken out of your creator's labs?"

 

"I'll get it forged. I'll make it after you." Vexa says honestly.


The forest guardian and the human lead Iris through the camp, a few children stopping to look at Iris in awe, some muttering to each other about how 'cool' she looks.

Iris is lead to a clearing in the forest, a large tree with a pair of vines wrapped around it sitting in the center. Runes appear to glow on the vines, and strong life magic pulses from them.

 

"In the coming days, I'm going to give you my lance. It's... a bit different than the other weapons I've made."


Iris pays them little mind, looking at the runes with slight unease.
"Meditate near the tree and go from there, I'm guessing?" Iris asks the guardian and human.

 

"How so?" Vexa asks.


The pair nod, smiling.

 

"We are? I thought we were at Siln's place."

 

"Thank you." Iris says, approaching the tree and sitting down, red glowing slits visible on her face as she closes her eyes and her staff begins to levitate in front of her.
If Gaia's paying attention, she'd notice what seems to be a shadow dragon reaching out to her.
"Lady Gaia, I may leave turmoil in my wake at home, but... I would like to request your permission to join your children for their celebration of haunts and scares. The fear war leaves behind is far too serious... there is no joy in scaring foes in battle, but a celebration dedicated to lighthearted horror? I'd lay down my arms for that."

No, Rema has the separate room with the bed she never uses... also it smells super weird, so it has to be Rema's.

 

“A little bit of both. Do we need to go somewhere, so we can walk as I tell you?”

 

"In what manner?" Gaia responds.

 

"I mean, I'm still sorting through records. Zeo, or the other thirteen, is the usual tour guide, but if you couldn't tell from your introduction to him... he's not the one doing it this time."

Iris seems a bit surprised.
"Wait... you mean, you'd actually consider it at all? I mean, I can tell that people here aren't as combat happy as shadows, but... seriously?"

 

"Perhaps. For the night of all hallow's eve." Gaia says.

 

"Oh yeah. Right."

 

“Then, who is? You?”

 

"Am I able to share visions with you through here? I don't know how to put it in words."

"Again, if you give me a minute to sort through records, I can. Zeo should be sending one of his sisters over to do it instead, though... unless he's really already taken that much of a disliking to you."

You think she's ever accidentally gotten some potion on herself?

 

I nod.
“I’ll stand by, then.”

 

"If you wish." Gaia says.

 

"She has to, right? If you're working with those things, those accidents are bound to happen."

 

Cyarnus heads back to the console he was working with.
"I shouldn't be too long, I got most of this done yesterday. Hopefully Zeo does his part, though..."

Iris shares a vision of what looks like a house overrun with plants and a gaping crater off to the side of it, spider webs occasionally strewn about with thorns nigh everywhere.
“Yes, there are plenty of things there that would otherwise be lethal, but if I killed people that’d ruin the point of scaring them on through the house. You know, arachnia, the occasional spectre, and me waiting in the basement as a shadow dragon.”

I mean, we could ask her. Once we stopped standing just outside the door, at least... just close it quietly, I don’t know how angry Anne gets at being woken up early.
