Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Did you break yourself out of servitude, or another in your series?”

Ruby remains wary, watching her every move.


“If you wouldn’t mind, now would be a fine time to try out the three features I finished.” Amethyst nods.

 

"Another. He went on a rampage, I simply capitalized on the situation."

 

“Any others like you, or have you not seen any signs of them since?”

 

"I have yet to see signs of them. I think it's mostly because I've been off that plane of existence for a while."

 

“And you hailed from Xlentia’s domain?”

 

"Elaborate on 'domain'."

 

She tests out the other hammers and the club, taking a sharp glance at Ruby after launching a statue head with the club. Vexa catches the head before it can do any damage, stopping fast despite it's speed. The woman picks up one of the heavier hammers.

"I like this one...it has a strong sense of power behind it. It is...perfect, in terms of what I'm looking for. How much is it?" The woman asks.

"Eight hundred and eighty gold." Vexa says, smiling, putting the other weapons under her desk.

"A perfect number...A reasonable price. For such a powerful weapon." The woman says as she reaches into her pocket, taking out gold coins of varying size with different markings on them. She hands them to Vexa, who counts the money.

"Oh, you've paid me an extra eight gold." Vexa says, seperating three different sized gold coins; likely coins for 'five', 'two' and 'one'.

"Consider it an...extra donation toward your shop. It seems only right to...support you." The woman says, smiling.

"You're sure?" Vexa asks, entirely willing to give the woman back her additional money.

The woman nods, and Vexa puts the money away. She waves her hand over the hammer, and a few runes carved into it glow faintly. She then offers the hammer to the woman, who takes it.

"Thank you." The woman says, turning to take her leave with the weapon.


"I'll inform the queen immediately, then." The guard says, taking his leave.

A short while later, Amethyst hears her name called again, this time by a more royal voice.

 

"Lands considered her territory. Mostly identifiable as the Void and the worlds her portal room reaches out to."

 

"I hail from the latter of the two examples, yes."

 

Ruby simply heads to the back of the shop.


Amethyst peeks out from the pile of fabric.

"Have you spent more time in other worlds than those, or have you been travelling in the reality that has been connected to ours?"

 

"A little bit of both."

 

"Has the other reality been friendly to you? They don't seem particularly fond of my presence over there."

 

The woman lowers her sunglasses as she passes Ruby on the way out. They seem to have been covering two pairs of eyes, one side winking at Ruby as the woman gives Ruby a fanged smile. Once the woman exits the shop, she quickly disappears from sight.


Queen Leilia seems to be waiting outside Amethyst's room, though in her less-intimidating smaller form.

 

"When I say 'a little bit' I do, in fact, mean that a very small amount of my time has been spent travelling. I haven't interacted much with the other reality, much less with the other people there. I haven't had any hostile or otherwise malignant encounters, though."

 

Ruby lets out a sigh of relief as she passes.


Amethyst steps out of the pile of fabric, trying to haul it out of the doorway.
"Oh, my queen, forgive me... this gift is meant for your larger form. It is also far from complete... I just haven't been able to test the thing that makes it special."

"Hmm... perhaps emotions do indeed matter to biologicals more than my predictions have charted." EBB comments, seeming to consider something.

 

"What are your predictions on the matter?"

 

"Emotions were estimated to make an improvement in extended conversations but less of an impact in brief instances of communication, such as relaying information. They seem to impact that more strongly than the data I had previously collected."

 

"Oh, they certainly make in impact, in any form of communication. Whether that impact be optimal or suboptimal, it's still an impact."

 

“That was rarely the case here, but emotions seem to hold much more prominence in the other reality.”

 

Vexa takes her hammers and club into the back, putting them away.

"She seemed like a normal customer." Vexa shrugs.


"That's awfully kind of you Amethyst! Would you like me to try some of it on, then?" Leilia asks.
