Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Alright. See ya later then?"

He goes where she pointed me to go.

 

"How about half a sun? I can't touch the hammer without exploding, and it's too stiff to work feasibly."

 

"Yeah, you know where I am. I'll be here." She nods.

At the bottom of the stairwell you can hear the crowds going in and out of the castle from the bottom of the next stairwell. There's a curtain concealing it as well.

 

"That might work, actually." Vexa says, thinking.

 

I'll walk down the next staircase.

 

"What, half a sun?"


Sivius appears at the gates of the Shadow Palace, approaching the nearest guard.
"Is the queen present?"

The curtain is heavy, but once you push it out of the way you're back into the bustling crowd.

Of course, the downside of that is that it's still fairly crowded - getting back out into town will either be slow or involve a lot of shoving.

 

Vexa thinks a bit more, tapping the Orichalcum with the hammer, albeit with difficulty.

"Maybe not..." Vex says, thinking.


The guard shakes her head.

"The queen is currently with her form, under the care of Lady Praecantatia." The guard says.

 

"Three quarters?"


Sivius offers the guard a book.
"Give this to her when she returns or the king if he recovers before her return. Also, I assume this may be considered classified, but have you still been keeping our Gaia in your vault?"

 

Vexa shakes her head.

"A tenth." Vexa says, after pondering for a while.


"I'm not authorised to know about such information, sir." The guard confesses.

 

"Let me know when you've got enough in you to try that much, then."


"If you could put in a request to have the vault checked by someone who does, I'd appreciate that."

 

I'll push myself through the crowd.
"Excuse me, coming through."

 

Vexa nods, sitting down for a rest.


"I'll see what I can do." The guard says.

 

A few people seem annoyed about being pushed to the side, but eventually the crowd learna to give you enough space to pass.

It still takes a full minute to get outside and out of the crowd.

Ruby simply levitates, looking around at the view from the top of the volcano.


Sivius nods, vanishing again.


Mary, after cleaning up a bit of the ruin she left behind while asleep, heads towards the tribe chief with a look of unease.

 

I'll continue walking. Maybe look around the crowd a bit to see who's in it.

 

Mostly humans, though you can see the occasional magical creature (two harpies, a few centaur, a half-spider, among other things).

The further you walk, the thinner the crowd gets.

 

Most of the town seems to be built around the side of the volcano, meaning an eruption would wreak havoc. Further below, Ruby can see forests on one side, while on the other, a vast stretch of hilly plains leading to an ocean.


The chief seems to be talking to another of the forest guardians, but turns to Mary after he's finished with them.

 

"I'd expect more magical creatures, seeing as you can be whatever you want here."

I'll continue walking.

 

Ruby ignores the impact of an eruption, enjoying the view.


Mary half-bows, weary.
“One of my friends had reached out to me in a dream. There was a large battle somewhere, and... something about the pirates who left me here.”

After another minute, you leave the castle courtyard and re-enter the town.

You’re still in human form, it’s probably like a baseline or something.

 

A few birds fly by, some swooping down to the trees to rest. It's a pleasant day, though some clouds appear to be making their way across the sky from the horizon.


"Oh?" The chief asks, intrigued.

 

Ruby watches the clouds.


Mary seems troubled, mostly with trying to recall the dream.
“Something about a guardian siege on a human city, a robot from my home realm leaving no survivors, my undead sister feasting on the remains, and the pirates who left me here being freed from imprisonment.” She says, looking strained. “I’m sorry, I can barely remember.”
