Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ruby descends towards her.
"How much of the orichalcum do you plan to use right now?"

 

"Most of it. I have plans for a sword, and if all goes well, I should have a bit left for a pair of claws too." Vexa says positively.

 

Ruby takes a small crystal from the core, then passes the rest of it to Vexa.

 

"Yeah, yeah. I know."

 

Vexa immediately gets to work, taking off a large chunk of Orichalcum and beginning to hammer it into shape. However, after a lot of hammering, she seems exhausted; the Orichalcum looking hardly shaped at all.

 

“That’s... surprisingly tough.”

Fybus smiles.
“Alright, I’ll escort you out of here and then we’ll part ways.” She says, walking towards the door.

 

Vexa nods, out of breath. She wipes some sweat from her brow before continuing.

Vexa only manages to hammer for half the time she took previously, and the Orichalcum doesn't seem to change much at all.

 

Ruby etches runes into the air before snapping, Vexa feeling somewhat revitalized and the hammer feeling lighter.
"See if a bit of extra strength with a double density hammer does anything." She says.

 

Vexa gets back to work, but the Orichalcum seems stubborn as ever, only changing slightly after a good amount of hammering. In it's current shape, it looks more like a big club than a blade.

 

Ruby dispels the hammer modifications, attempting to psyblast the orichalcum to make it easier to mold... or mold it in the general shape of a blade, depending on its resistance.

 

"If you don't mind."

 

The orichalcum is tough enough to resist the blast, remaining unchanged.

 

Ruby tries softening it up by subjecting it to temperatures thrice that of the lava below.

As she opens the door, the crazy curved path down forms again, and you realize that you’ve been standing on a ceiling... at least, that’s what it seems like.
The hall and stairway down is ahead, seeming slightly narrower than you remember.

 

The Orichalcum glows, softening slightly but still remaining strong.

 

“Try shaping it now.” Ruby says, heating it for another second before stopping.

 

Vexa continues her hammering. The Orichalcum shapes a little more this time, but it's clear it's going to take a lot longer as Vexa tires out and it remains looking like a slightly flatter club.

 

“I’d use the heat of a sun, but I’m worried things are going to spontaneously combust.”

 

I thought we were walking around town. Oh well..

"I guess I'll be going then?"

 

You were talking on the first floor of the mayor's house.

"Yeah, just down the staircase and you'll see the crowds."

 

"That might melt it." Vexa warns.
