Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Anyone watching Ruby notices her briefly grip her forehead before shifting back to normal and moving on, continuing to scan the surface below her.

 

There's no signs of Vexa, the only life below natural to the area.

 

She keeps searching, circling the globe twice, intent on finding Vexa or something out of the ordinary.

 

After searching the globe, Ruby locates Vexa's soul, resting in a forest guardian inn.

 

Ruby partially descends and remains above the inn until morning, keeping cloaked to anyone who isn't a spirit.

 

Vexa wakes and leaves early, heading out into the thick surrounding forest.

 

Ruby reaches out to her telepathically.
"Vexa, could you wait up a second?"

 

"Hm?" Vexa asks, confused, looking around.

 

Ruby uncloaks and descends in front of Vexa.
"I decided not to wait for you to come back to the forge." She shrugs.

 

"It's a surprise to see you here." Vexa says with a smile.

 

"I'm afraid it's more of an interrogation than a reunion. I heard there was a battle here that summoned the Starwatcher's aide. Where was this battle?"

 

"A battle? Well, there was a large-scale attack on the humans a while ago. I didn't participate, but those who did bought our weapons!" Vexa says positively.

 

"Where was it, and do you know how many of our weapons fell into enemy hands?" Ruby asks, going from a neutral tone to deadly serious.

 

Vexa shrugs.

"I didn't pay it much mind," Vexa admits, "After all, I had to restock the shop!"

 

Ruby nods, sighing.
"Good enough. Now, for the more awkward question... I went too far, and I can no longer control the amount of raw mana that flows through me. Do you want me to make one last set of weapons, or..."
Ruby hesitates, breaking eye contact and returning to a less serious tone.
"...do you want to give up your purity to become half draconian?"

 

"Give up my purity? What?" Vexa asks, confused.

 

"Become me, gain my knowledge and a fraction of my strength at the cost of becoming a draconic halfblood." Ruby says, a bit flustered. "I'm dying, okay? I screwed up, and I can't vent my strength anymore. I either go out with a bang, or I use that strength before it comes too much to merge with someone and be done with these curses forever." She admits.

 

"I-I'd rather just stay who I am." Vexa says, concerned.

 

Ruby sighs, nodding.
"I'll look for someone else. You're the one person I trust most, so I figured I'd ask you first. Also, I'm sorry. I should've just stayed at the forge instead of dealing with things back at home."

 

"Well, you always wanted to give 110%, didn't you?" Vexa says, giving a smile.
