Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Celebrating a birthday with a group of wolves, a bear and a bird is weird."

 

She seems to ignore the lack of interaction, simply heading back to the forge and looking up at the sky.

"Celebrating your birthday after you die is weirder... and I do that anyways." Fybus shrugs.

 

"How is that?"

 

"Birthdays are celebrations of living another year. I'm not even alive. But, it's fun, so I do it anyways."

 

"Who do you invite then? Got any close friends?"

 

The sky is blue, and sunny. It's a pleasant day out, wind cool and picking up brown leaves.

 

Ruby heads inside to look for her boss.

"Just the other guards, not really close to anyone down here because most people come and go."

 

The door seems to be locked, the shop closed. Strangely early for it to be closed...

 

Ruby scans for Vexa’s soul, checking the surroundings of the forge for anyone nearby.

 

Vexa doesn't seem to be in the shop, but there are a few people about town.

 

"What about the Mayor himself?"

 

Ruby cloaks and waits, remaining near the forge.

“If he’s here, yeah. He’s usually busy or gone, though.”

 

"What does he do in the awake world?"

 

The day passes, many people walking by the shop but none of them Vexa. A couple of people seem to absent mindedly walk up to the shop to enter, only stopping when they see it's closed.

 

Ruby just waits, monitoring everyone who passes until the moon peaks in the sky.

"He doesn't say. At least, not to us guards... Yeah I'm curious, but you don't just butt in on someone's private life at your leisure."

 

Vexa doesn't come by, not even in the night. A few Shadows and spirits rise in the night, however.

 

Ruby uncloaks herself to the spirits, slowly approaching whichever one is closest to her.

 

It seems to be the spirit of an earth guardian, though they fade once Ruby gets near. They appear to just be wandering, lost and alone.

 

Ruby instead heads skywards, somewhat cross.

 

Ruby can see the bright lights of a human city in the distance, polluting the sky. A few barely-visible air guardians fly through the night sky, enjoying the view.
