Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Don't lose hope, but never forget... you're facing gods. You may have bested Xlentia, but the others? This Hive Master you struggle against learns from his mistakes." The Matriarch says, getting up to cover the painting of the desecrated guardian. "But he can't fix them all. Nobody's perfect, no matter how hard they try."

 

"Well, we've just got to find his flaws and use them!" Katie says with newfound enthusiasm.

 

"Never forget the friends you have here." The Matriarch says with a slightly awkward mandible-smile. "We might not all be able to help you fight, but we can still help you."

 

Katie nods, smiling, before taking her leave.

 

As Katie heads out, the Matriarch sits down again and the guards at the entry shift to the side to be completely out of the way.

 

"Thank you." Katie says, before skipping off back to the moat for another swim.

 

She finds a pair of raptors chasing each other near the moat, one trying to tackle the other into the water.
Strangely, there’s a man who looks somewhat like a water guardian sitting near the raptor watering hole. It’s clear they’re not a true guardian, but they seem to be equally able to manipulate water.

 

"Yeah, hum, growl. You know, whatever works."

 

Katie wanders over to the man, curious.

"Hello." Katie greets with a friendly tone.

 

“That kind of sounds adorable, except I’m guessing he’s bigger than you.”

He seems startled and, after looking over Katie for a bit, nervous.
“I, uh... I can explain. Just don’t hurt me, okay?” He says, backing up a bit.

 

"He's a whelp. You can ride around on him, so about that size."

He holds up his hand up to his hip.

 

"I'm not going to hurt you!" Katie says, smiling.

 

OOC: Sgavrinn's full grown, strong enough to fly you around.

"Y-you sure? That's... actually, okay. Here, I'll just show you instead of tell you, alright?" He says, getting up with only one leg, before realizing this and reforming it from the water. "We're all in the castle, I-I'm sure some of the others will be happy to see you instead of... w-well, fearing for their life."

 

He is? How big is he?

 

About 3 meters tall and 6 long (2m of which is his tail) with a 4m wingspan.

 

"The others?" Katie asks, confused.

 

The man signals Katie to follow, heading towards the stronghold on the far end of the respite.

 

Katie follows obediently, leaving wet footprints as she goes.

 

Once inside, the man rests a hand on a slightly miscolored brick, which causes a doorway to appear.
The man gestures for Katie to enter.
"Please, take a look for yourself."

 

Katie enters, looking around.
