"So you got lucky and found a bear that wasn't hungry, and it's a happily-ever-after story after that?"

EBB is idling nearby on the other, scanners buried in books.
Avis seems to be sniffing at the portal as well.

 

Artemis stands her ground, watching EBB cautiously.

 

EBB doesn't even seem to realize it's being watched, continuing its scan until it reaches the end of the book - written in shadow tongue, it would seem. Afterwards, it just leaves the book on the nearby table, takes its notes, and leaves.

 

Artemis sighs in relief, though remains tense. She turns to re-enter the Shadow Palace, though keeps an eye on the portal.

 

Avis eyes her, poking her head through (but refusing to step through).

 

Artemis doesn't pay Avis much mind, heading through the doors opened for her.

 

"I tamed him ofcourse."

 

Avis winds up getting booted through the portal, howling in protest before bolting back through.

"So, you found a magic bear, a magic eagle, and a magic wolf and made friends with them. What else?"

 

"Are you making fun of me?"

 

Artemis sharply turns back to the portal, bow held ready with an arrow nocked.

 

Sivius walks through the portal before vanishing, Avis seeming something between annoyed and confused.

"Yes and no. Yes in that you found a bunch of magic creatures and it never clicked, no as in I don't know where you found them because there's not a whole lot of magic outside of that one island."

 

"Maybe because I'm a werewolf I have some sort of special bond to animals."

 

Artemis tries looking for Sivius' life essence, glancing around.

 

There's initially no trace of him, but he soon reappears.
"Is the queen in currently? There's something she, and you, should know."

"I just mean, that many magical animals that don't usually have magic capabilities? That's super strange."

 

"I don't believe so." Artemis responds.

 

"I never said they were magical, did I? I just said I could talk to them."

 

"If they understand you and can talk back, then they know telepathy. That's magic."

"If you don't mind the request, I'd like to speak with you privately."

 

"Very well." Artemis nods, accepting.

 

Sivius steps towards Artemis.
“You pick the venue, but I’d rather make this quick. It involves the... new problem that’s scared Onyx off.”

 

Artemis turns and heads into the Shadow Palace, heading over to one of the elevators once inside.
