Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Onyx sneezes, heading over to a pouch of catnip to rub off the dust.

 

The sneeze gets off most of it, rubbing against the bag of catnip both getting the rest of the dust off and a catnip high.

 

Onyx purrs, laying down near to her catnip and enjoying its scent.

 

Onyx is left to her own cat high.

 

"The highest ranking person I've seen so far is the Mayor."

 

Onyx ends up falling asleep in her room, waking up only to lazily wander over to her human-form bed and change to the appropriate form to get in.

 

"Same here. You sort of know where I am, come back if you find someone with a higher title."

Nobody disturbs her.

 

"Are there any kings or queens here?"

 

After a long rest, Onyx eventually returns to the void palace, curious to see if anything has changed.

 

After just a few seconds of wandering, she gets snatched away behind a statue, something’s hand around her neck.
By the time she’s able to move her head again, she realizes it was the figure that came out of the cryotube.
“Kitty, you listen and you listen well. You go tell your people that it’s not too late, that I only need the blood of two champions. Another three days, before... that thing... breaks out of its seal. It possesses me, it possesses us. Tell your people that we are not your enemies... yet.”

“None in town.”

 

"No nobles or anything?"

 

Onyx just struggles, clawing at the hand and trying to break free.

 

She can't quite squirm out.
"Go. Two more." It says before letting go.

"Nope. Some in their former life, but none here."

 

"Why is that? Is there a rule against them?"

 

Onyx just disappears again, scared.

 

“I dunno. I guess they usually get overthrown because nobody likes them or something.” Fybus shrugs. “No rules against keeping your old titles, though.”

The figure vanishes after looking down at their hands.

 

Onyx doesn't return to the void palace for a long time.

 

In the meantime, Sgavrinn wanders through to the Shadow Realm, though one of his wings is mechanical and he doesn’t seem accustomed to its weight seeing as he lets it drag on the ground.

 

People don't seem to pay him much mind, going on with their normal business. It appears to be the late afternoon, judging the black sun's location.

 

He heads over to the garden, looking for Artemis.
